No I was actually going to make a thread about how illit has done well in coming into their own, building a solid base of actual fans, and successfully made it past the hate and copycat allegations. But now you soiled it.

I don't think being in Illit is such a terrible fate, especially considering that (in my opinion) their music is improving. But Illit's musical/visual aesthetic is better suited to my tastes, I suppose. If Youngseo prefers ADP's concept, then good for her. She also gets a special spotlight by being the only vocalist in the group.

and what is the point of having one 'global hit' song if it was at the expanse of another group and their ips? because now that they're gone, and the truth has been revelead, truth is they ain't having no hits anymore.

at least adp has a clear identity, brings something new on the table (atp in the industry) and has a promising future. also an undoubtedly real impact and organic success.

I won't go there bc i believe hybe "tactics" benefited all their acts, not just one.

But yeah, belief people were incompetent in giving illit a different image from another newly group, but they are still young and can rebuild their own image. But that will depend if their company are willing to do it.

I wouldn't quite consider Illit a "bullet," even though they recieve a fair bit of criticism from the public and I am not a fan of their music or content, they still are a successful group with a substantial fansbase, and I'm sure Youngseo probably would've been one of the most-stanned and least-hated members, in fact I think if she had debuted with Illit they probably wouldn't have recieved as much hate for having no talented member.

But it's also true it seems Youngseo is in a good position in ADP as she serves a crucial role as the visual and most "idol-like" member of the group + the only one that can sing, so she definitely wont end up the dozen or least popular of the group.

Also Youngseo suits Adp more than illit. Her voice is saving ADP. She has very beatiful tone

well i mean bethief literally stole nj plans for their debut ep so that's what i meant really. and the abscence of nj also benefited illit during Q1 2024 when the hype around a new nj release was at it's peak after the insane success of Get Up.

many people checked on magnetic because they were exited about a nj comback and they thaught it was a nj song, or at last sounded like one.

but nj are gone now and so are their ips.

if illit can't get another hit song, it's just the proof that the only hype or interest they were ever able to gather around them (at least to the level of magnetics success) was mostly thanks to nj.

I like Illit but their biggest mistake was releasing magnetic as their debut song. It's one of the most popular song of the decades but the song is overshadowing their careers. Every single release is being compared to magnetic, and the weight of that song might be too big. Hybe/Belift need to find a way to get another hit song because so far each of their releases after magnetic they failed to reach the top 20 on Melon.

ADP seems to be set to be the next big group going by their debuts. I don't think the music is that good but they have a hold on the Korean audience, and the international audience would soon follow. Youngseo is in a great spot here because she gets to shine as the lone vocalist and it would be easier for people to recognize her. On the other hand, if she was in Illit, she would just be another member of Illit and not standout imo.

Not to shade Illit because I think they're doing fine, but still need to find themselves. I wouldn't write them off because they have a big company backing them. Plus, they seem to be the group that is breaking into the Japanese market and that's a valuable market.I don't think it's really a bullet dodge because Illit will have a successful career. I will just say ADP is a better situation.

thats just speculation though. someone could just as easily say annie's family is paying for adp success. doesnt mean anything without proof

I liked the entire album, not just the Do The Dance. I don't think it's childish, rather quirky. If you disagree, that's fine. I'm not going to lose any sleep over it.

I think this is a common trend with 5th gen groups. I think it's unfair to expect groups to find themselves within a year. Maybe I'm a bit new to experience the start of a gen, but it seems unfair to expect a group to figure it out right away. Groups need time to grow and find themselves and it seems 5th gen groups aren't getting a chance to find themselves.

Most 4th gen groups didn't figure it out right away and it felt they had more room to grow compared to 5th gen.

I don't understand why some of you are literally in every ADP thread saying how you hate the group, the idols, the songs like ?? It's so childish bc the same are the loudest to complain when others say any negative thing about their faves. Hypocrites..

YGE/Teddy build that image and used/use on their groups, belief stole ador ideas and used in their group who isn't from the same "company". I thought this was something easy to understand seeing how the later went into a legal battle.
