BABYMONSTER's Rami will take temporary hiatus due to health concerns and won't participate in their upcoming Asia tour.

Damn thats sad hopefully she gets well.

Over touring?

Over touring?
I mean touring too much, or is it normal?

Oh, I don't know..

I'm actually surprised it took this long after seeing how poorly YG handling them. I heard she had some problem with her leg, and even used an IV as well.
Isn't YG "over touring" them?
My thoughts exactly! YG want them to become so popular way too fast. They only debuted like a year ago and already doing a packed World Tour. Only an insane person would do this to underage girls. And he dare to say he cares about them like his own daughter.
Anyone can see he only cares about the stats and records, not the girls.
-
I'll feel better soon and join them
-
I feel the same way as well. They are still kids and the company already sends them to many concerts - even adding up dates. YG lacks effort for promotions, but goes crazy for tours.

I think it’s not a leg problem, but pneumothorax. She was hospitalized a year ago because of this condition. I hope she takes a good rest.

Every once in a blue moon I agree with you
This is one of those times.
This group has a bunch of damned kids in it and they are dragging them around the world on a packed schedule. It CANNOT be healthy or good for themReason #21,356 why kpops current obsession with debuting kids is a fucked up idea.

Yes, also that, I forgot about that. She has that problem for like a year, but I heard she had a problem with her leg too.

We're not that different, my guy, except when it's about BP.😅
Kpop nowadays is like Movie sequels. The 1st one was a massive hit so, every studio want 10 sequels, but the quality is crap. In this case, the quality is the packed schedules. But hey, it's worth it because YG made 9B thanks to BM and Treasure. At least based on the article I read yesterday.
-
I hope she gets healthy soon.
-
I'm glad she'll be able to get some rest, she was not looking well in some of their recent clips from concerts.
I really hope she is able to recover and come back ASAP, but you gotta do what you gotta do for yourself. And while I am glad to have had the chance to see them live, YG has really been overworking these young ladies with this tour and now a slated comeback, I just hope they all get a break at some point.
-
-
Hope she gets better soon. I wonder if this group is being overworked because it seems a bit odd for a younger group to be this active.
I think it's possible they are being overworked but I do wonder what them being young or underage has to do with any of this. I just don't really see why it matters if they are 16 or 18, what difference would that make?
If anything, I would think these young ladies who have worked for years to reach this point are quite excited to be able to travel the world and perform and receive praise from thousands of fans. And I know this because they have expressed this multiple times in vlogs/interviews. So instead of assuming YG is working them to death, I like to also consider that Rami herself has been pushing through this so she can meet monstiez and perform. I know if I were in that position, I would not wanna miss being a part of these performances.
I'm not defending YG but unlike what I see from most k-pop stans, I like to consider that the idol actually has a say in their activity...even if they are a young new group.

The key part might be their age. There's a fitness level needed to endure touring. At a young age it's most likely difficult to condition body to prepare for a tour. There's more chances for risk of injuries due to body not being conditioned. I assume most younger idols aren't fully conditioned for a heavy workload. Also, there's a major difference between 16-18 because body is still developing and an extra year or 2 can make a major difference.
I am most likely doing too much assumptions on my part, but it's something to consider. I assume YG knows better than us because they've been in this industry for a long-time and most likely know limits of their idols. Well, I should say I hope they know but a person that is working in a group environment will push themselves and hope some aren't pushing themselves too much.
I agree that they must love the idea of touring because who wouldn't want to travel around the world doing what you love?

Good points, can't really argue that. I think maybe I've gotten too old and now 2 years no longer seems like a big difference lol, but I suppose it is as that age. I guess I'll just say that I want to believe that they are not over exhausted and that this tour is more of an exciting experience than an exhausting one, even if it is work at the end of the day.

yea I imagine it's really tough to speak up in a situation like this because you don't wanna disappoint fans and your group members, but I am glad she will get the rest she needs.

I mean, young kids doesn't have the same stamina, experience, not to mention mental condition.
In my opinion, no one under 21 should go on a massive World Tour like this, but this is Kpop, you're basically finished when you hit 28 or so. That's why agencies debuting teens since the beginning. They have a good 7-10 years in the industry IF they're lucky and that's all. People are not interested in 25 or older Idols. They want "Cute puppies".
What you're saying is the problem. These girls (and boys) worked for years as trainees, didn't even have a real life, and now they're on a World Tour 1 year after their debut.
I have to add this as well. The fans are just as guilty in this toxic environment like the agencies. Fans are so easy to mislead. They watch a nice bts video about Idols saying: "Oh, we love to do this, we love working 24/7." and 2 weeks later, fans acting surprised why Idols are physically and/or mentally ill, and out for weeks.
I mean, just in the past couple of weeks, I read articles about like 5 or 6 different Idols taking a break for health reasons.
To be honest, I'm not surprised fans don't stand up and boycott agencies (not just YG), because most of them are just as young as these girls, they don't know better. Most of them only care about popularity, and just want to see their faves. That's why Kpop agencies can exploit these young kids, Idols, and their fans too.

Trust me, most Idols have zero say in what they can do. Especially when it comes to tours. It's not just Idols, btw. This is the whole Korean society. People working without break, almost, that's why they drink so much alcohol and have so many suicide cases. If you don't work hard, you're out for good, basically.
I remember when MAMAMOO fans tried to boycott RBW because the girls worked non-stop, I think it was when they did the 4Season Project, 4 EP in a single year, plus concerts and other things. And they are not underage girls, so imagine how hard it is for much younger girls. The expectation are so high (from the fans and companies) you need to be a superhuman to jump higher.
There's a reason we say: slave contracts in Kpop.

I can kinda understand Mamamoo having to work a lot - they're not from a big agency like YG. And I remember how much they did it.
But YG doesn't need money that much, and they have other ways of getting cash. Girls are even having some ads like MC Donalds and Banila. Idk a lot about how tours work, but since Babymonster won't have many comebacks this year they could add more space between the dates, idk...
I hope they stay safe, and that the fans take care of them too and pressure YG if needed.

Yeah, that's true. I remember when Red Velvet and MAMAMOO appeared on "Immortal Songs 2" and someone asked, MMM, how many performances they do. They said on a busy day it's 4, and RV girlies were shocked because it's too much.😂 And that was in 2015. But Moomoos were really had enough in 2018, because RBW shared their schedules with literally zero break. In 10 years they had more than 800 concerts all-around the world, including solo as well. I honestly don't know how they do that. Solar working non-stop, musicals, music, YT channel every week, concerts, variety shows, panelist or judge/mentor on survival shows, and now her horror movie coming soon this year.
But, yeah for BIG4 groups shouldn't do this, but let's be real, agencies spending billions to make their groups popular everywhere, and they have a lot of investors too. I mean, just look at YG, how much money they lost since GD and BP left. Now, it's all on Babymon to bring in the money YG lost.
Tours bring the most money in, that's why agencies doing World Tours, but it's also the most expensive for them too. They don't have much time to make their Idols popular enough, but they have to act fast, because in 3 years most people will move on if they won't do any tours. It's a vicious cycle.

LOL, people acting as if I'm only talking nonsense.🤣 Arguing with some fandom about vocals, music taste and other things doesn't mean we can't have a same opinion about anything else, either.
Like I said before, people always forget that I don't usually argue with people that much, that's just 1% of my "career" here on this Forum. Even with you, we agreed on multiple things. You just forget it, because just like any other Kpop fans, you remember the negative things when I had a different opinion about your faves or something else.
If everyone has the same opinion all the time, life would be boring as hell.

Maybe, because in the past month my mental health was better without AKP, so my brain is cleansed.

Is it fun to fight about the same nonsense all the time?
I'm a chill guy until someone trashing my faves just because they don't have a real argument. I don't care if people want to downplay my faves, but I expect people do some research at least. If someone does that, I'm not gonna lose my shit.
I like arguing with people, but most of you take everything so seriously.
It's like, everyone want to be part of a fun KDrama, but you're acting like North Koreans.🤣

Yama is a peculiar case because he keeps the forum alive somehow
If it's too peaceful we'll all just stop posting
-
He can keep the Forum alive, because all he posts about is NJ, BP, BTS, TWICE and other mainstream groups. Most of his threads are about comparisons. I tried to post news, new music, MV's etc.
The Forum can be entertaining even when we argue, but people need to accept FAIR and VALID criticism, and even if they can't, trashing other people faves as a counter "argument" is just childish.
AKP Forum 2.0 is going to be about "Ban farming" not "Akorn Farming".🤣
Anyway, I'm off to watching "Alchemy of Souls", it's better than I thought it would be.
