I've never seen such a successful comeback make so little noise and have such minimal impact

If the success is in SK so yeah, you won't hear it where you live, hope that helps.
I'm a veteran in this industry, so I have a good sense for when a song is having a big impact.
In all seriousness, mona, you don't need to live in a country to know how impactful a song is.
Do you need to live in the U.S. to understand how big Gangnam Style was? Or Cupid? Or APT?
Silly child

Hard to say, I'm thinking this about every successful comeback of this year with the exception of Jennie

This
Kpop just hasn't been that good this last year

K-pop is dead
Who was lucky enough to gather a big fandom in time, good for them
There's no hype
No impact
No word of mouth
My conclusion is that we need NewJeans to bring back the Universe's balance

Tru-Multistan already stole and ruined one thread concept I had waiting to be implemented
Do NOT make it a second one stolen and ruined in one week

Btw I think Ive, GD and Jennie cbs are impactful in SK. That's why I think specially in cases like Ive and GD who have almost 0 presence ww like Spotify global etc you living there you'll understand why their numbers are so big there.
Overall I also think even in kpop community we are getting less and less known songs since 2021.

What does the Circle Digital Index Score say?

Kpop has peaked for sure atp… I just checked the numbers and no way the most streamed group song is only at 40m this year… like that is 2019 level numbers people

It's karma for the way certain figures in power reacted to NewJeans standing on integrity and behind the people who are responsible for their outstanding success

This is a weird year for kpop and it does feel one of the weakest years since i've followed it. I liked Minnie, Jennie, Nmixx, and LSF comeback/debut a lot. It's just that their projects didn't have that much of an impact outside of their respective fandoms. I guess it created a more positive reception towards the 2 groups because people are mixed on them. Actually, I would exclude Jennie but her release felt more focused towards global audience rather than kpop because that wasn't a kpop sounding album imo.
I think people need to realize how important it is to have Aespa, Idle, and NewJeans going strong. I feel the excitement level for girl groups revolve around those 3 groups. I like IVE but I am unsure how impactful their releases are in creating interests. Maybe I am overthinking things ,and interest in kpop is down. I think we need those 3 groups to release to see the current state of kpop.

It all depends on the upcoming appeal. If they win, we will see them this year.
If not, we won't. Most likely.
And yes, they'll destroy.
