It's funny. Jung Hyung-don teased GD for having a low view count for his "POWER" MV and compared it to aespa's. And GD was a good sport about it and laughed about it.

Well that's not a surprise, she's a VIP for 17 years, and GD liked her cover as well.
The songs sound good so far.

is there any thread for the album, i'm looking forward to it
my 2 cents gd fans pls dont open, its not bad but also not just praises
I feel like GD as an artist is legendary, but something always gets me thinking is that he is like a peter pan in kpop. You could say that power and crayon are from the same era, but his audience are not early 20s anymore so it just seems awkward? Dont get me wrong, I actually really liked kwon jiyong album, but I feel like he, as an celebrity, is forever is this party boy eccentric persona which is not bad, but he is such an influent figure in pop culture in korea, I expected more development by now you know?
And before anyone comes at me I know he has absolutely no obligation to carter to my oh so important opinion, I just wanted to talk in a kpop community/thread wtv...
In the end this is the very thing that's making me look foward to his album in a few hours, I want to know what he'll deliver.

No "official" thread for the album yet. Maybe one of us should make one.
I think it's too early to tell, but I'm having a good feeling about "Drama." It's supposedly about his career, what he's been through, the media's scrutiny over him, etc. It's really interesting. There are even theories that are out.
I like "Power," but I get what you mean. I feel like that's just his fun side, and there's nothing wrong with that. As for songs like "Crooked" and "Crayon," I think he performs them these days for the sake of nostalgia and to also please fans who loved him for those hits back in the day.
But dark, emotional GD is the best.

I understand what you mean, but tbh I think GD is the epitome of versatility and while he has this boyish image, he is also widely known for his super sad/depressed/problems lyrics and his songs, albums, etc will always be done according to what happened in his life.
Power was a big slap in the media/police faces after turning a false claim into a hate party, and also in the lyrics re introducing himself to younger kpop fans (he referred himself as a second gen).
And honestly international wise his fun, happy songs or just upbeats songs will always attract more attention than his sad, slow songs, but overall I always felt him as a completed artist!
Anyways, I understand what you mean even though not agreeing
