[aespa content] Old MY do you prefer : old aespa vs new aespa ??

im not a lore person

deffo new aespa. I’ve been a fan since the start and can still get behind black mamba, next level etc. but find myself cringing when hearing kwangya etc. I think savage is (whilst an interesting song) one of the most cringe they have

Spicy was a new momentum for them and I think I’ve really enjoyed every song since then

I voted old because that’s what set aespa apart from everyone else! Aespa are known for their weird metallic kwangya side that people loved to hate and now hate that they love it

They still have these elements in their later songs but it was much more aggressive e.g Savage and Girls whereas now it’s more softer (for aespa type of songs) e.g Whiplash and drama

New Aespa.

For the simple reason that they are just so much more confident now.

They survived the hate train, are on top of the world and are living their best life.

I really can't see in andy big difference in their music style? It't not that big difference between Black Mamba and Supernova?

I'm indifferent about the concept change. Music-wise, on average I prefer the new Aespa over the old Aespa.

Old Aespa felt more unique, but they were polarizing with their sound and lore.

New Aespa music is better imo, but they lost what made them Aespa.

Personally, I didn't care too much about the lore, but their new sound is much different. I don't think current Aespa will make another song like Savage, Next Level or Black Mamba. Maybe it's for the best because they've reached new heights by making less polarizing music. I think their new sound works for the members better because we're getting to hear the powerful vocals of ningning and winter more.

Hmm, in that case I don't feel either way really.

I like both their old and new stuff. The lore stuff is fine and I like it, but it doesn't matter to me that they don't put it front and centre anymore. They could also bring it back in a heartbeat and I'd be fine with it.

A few call outs here and there would make for fun easter eggs I guess.

I still feel like their music and concepts stand out from the crowd, if less obviously so.

Noone else is doing a Drama or Armageddon for example, and the quality of these releases even conceptually feel better than BM, NL, Savage and Girls. To me they still feel in line with what they were doing before, just upgraded.

I also like that they are branching out a bit to the likes of Supernova, Spicy, Whiplash etc.

New aespa for sure. Drama, Supernova and Whiplash are peak aespa. The only thing I wish now is that they have more bsides like Illusion. Unfortunately I find most of aespa bsides sound outdated and Illusion is the song that match their image the most.
