Do you think genetics determines different types of intelligence?

Intelligence is heritable, I don't know the specific numbers, but recollect 50 or 70% of intelligence can be ascribed to heredity.

But this research is strongly suppressed by "powers to be", because it is seen as encouraging things like racism.

It is also not easy to tell apart the impacts due to specific culture, socioeconomic status of the family and the general environment of the society based on what pursuits are celebrated.

Asians/Indians/Jewish etc., as cultures do push academic achievement, merely by comparing average hours of study at each level. So are bound to have a massive lead in that area.

And then within each group you would have other factors come into play.

As they say, “Nurture is more powerful than nature.” There are multiple kinds of intelligence but they like to obsess over IQ.

Genetics plays a small infinitesimal role in intelligence at least amongst humans, barring any legitimate genetic defects that causes mental illness and medical retardation.

The largest contributor to overall intelligence especially when it comes to IQ boils down to socioeconomic status, parenting, school/education system and it's structures. East Asians like us Koreans rank highest because of the pressures put on the people to become educated and the overbearing culture in many of our countries to " become doctor become nuclear physicist and engineer of the universe etc" the same attributes are seen in foreigners who live and are born in Korea and have adapted to our way of life, proving that it's purely a product of one's environment. This educational pressure isn't as serious in a lot of other countries. But to easily disprove the idea that Asian genetics makes us smart, I can find plenty of dumbass Koreans that couldn't pass the CSAT and have the IQ of a bag of rocks too, these statistics aren't hard to find either.

Indeed true and as I mentioned before most people are a product of their environment. The reason the middle east has Soo many issues is because of the overall climate and culture clashes there even without any external involvement by others, the area has always been a hot bed of fighting and conflicting interests, this makes it very difficult to have a stable society to foster better education etc, when most countries there are dictatorships, massive civil rights violations and inequality especially towards LGBTQ and women and strict religious doctrines that prohibits freedom of religion. Whereas in East Asian countries none of those problems exist and some that do exist in very small quantities thus not stifling upward mobility of the population and education.

Only country in the middle east that doesn't fall to this issue is Israel and that's because it's modeled after Western values it's a free democracy where everyone regardless of race religion and sexual orientation can live without prejudice.

As ethnically part Lithuanian I know what your referring. So much for the Teutonic Knights. What a wild history.

Surprised American kids results are upper tier. There is so much talk how badly American kids were behind in Math and Science. Keep trying to improve is paying off.

Both my Grandparents are from there. They moved to the Mid-West USA. Large Polish, Lithuanian and German communities exist there. After all that I'm Californian - cowabunga dude.
