So we have 1 show banning it outright, another removing video views so couldnt win, another now removing sns points, vote.

She Won Mcountdown and they decided to just fuck her over? Just fuck these music shows i guess.

  • I’m not sure someone sad it was banned because it mentioned name brands

No, name brand they can ask her to change the lyrics or ok, ban, it happened with Exo Lotto. But the amount of things that are happening to her cb is crazy to say the least. So many "reasons" to ban her and then I remember some k incels crying about how this song is about women so maybe bc the song is considered a feminist song they are doing this, it's just super weird how things are happening.

  • Not accusing anyone here, but the reactions of some people in various K-pop spaces is why I made this thread:

Why I don’t want my faves to get achievements in Korea

It's also why I think charts are the root of all evil in K-pop.

Some people are so quick to hate an entire ethnicity and sometimes even race just because their K-pop favorites got slightly disadvantaged on the charts.

Blaming the broadcast station is fine. Blaming a whole ethnicity is not.

Some of you are so quick to hate an entire country, nationality, ethnicity, and sometimes even race just because your K-pop favorites got slightly disadvantaged on the charts. I'm glad you're not leaders of any country.

You know, it's starting to be annoying all this "kpop fans chart lovers" cries, superyeah. For kpop or any other industry to survive they need money. Nobody will work as hard as they do for free their whole life. Point.

This thread isn't crying bc she is charting #3 in all charts, it's just bc she is being banned or even "boycotted" by channels without proper explanation and fans are upset bc they want Jennie to see the support she is getting and to some extent, yeah, give her good results bc they genuinely like her song.

This isn't a black or white situation and this thread isn't hating on SK as a whole.

I edited my post to clarify.

Sorry, ForgottenSoul . You didn't actually say anything about Korea. You were just blaming the music shows, which is perfectly fine and reasonable. I got carried away and unfairly linked you with the others.

But I'll still stand by what I said about K-pop fans' obsession with charts. It creates a whole lot of problems.

I'm all for being happy about our favorites' charting achievements. I just don't like the animosity that often comes with it, and it seems like a lot of people just can't avoid going down that slippery slope.

  • Jennie began to show off thinking that she could do everything herself, but the reality is that no one needs her agency. The stupidest decision in the life of an idol is to create your own company for your own promotion, it would be better if you did it like Rose, signed a contract with a top agency and now she is popular everywhere. :pepe-big-brain:

  • This is less of a obession of charts and mistreatment/banning of songs, the girls obviously care about the awards otherwise they wouldnt perform on the shows or promote the wins.

Jennie has been screwed over 3 times now from different music shows.

Jennie is signed with a big company also and Rose is everywhere because her song went viral..

That has nothing to do with Jennie being screwed over 3 times.

It's better to try what you always wanted to as long as it doesn't hurt anyone.

Essentially, numbers don't mean anything in the end. What matters more is cultural and societal impact, which both Jennie and Rosé have. You can't quantify that.

That has nothing to do with Jennie being screwed over 3 times.

It became successful because Atlantic Records is part of Warner Music Group, hence the virality. And this is considering that Rose was the least popular in BlackPink, while the rest had a weak debut in their solo careers.

  • I'm truly sorry, ForgottenSoul and someone00

I honestly just got carried away seeing some of the reactions on X and other spaces. Some of the fans are always telling our favorites to forget about their cultural roots, move to the West, etc. And it's often just due to charts. It just doesn't sit right with me because I see it as disrespectful to idols. That's all.

Being upset at these particular music shows because you want the best for your favorites is perfectly reasonable. I can empathize with that!

Influence is when a new comeback stimulates the growth of streaming of old tracks, bringing them to the top of the charts, I don’t see this, even the legendary track Solo is not at the top of the charts. Look how DAY6 new comeback brought the track of 2019 to the top of the charts.

You really think the girls would leave YG and make their own music if they had no money it’s time to stop living in mars yes charts obsession is bad but wanting your favs to do well will never be a bad thing I’m sorry but I don’t want my favs to leave in a dorm filled with cockroaches the rest of their lives :pepestare: If you don’t care then good for you

Legendary track "SOLO" indeed! You actually have something nice to say.
