Is BLACKPINK the first K-pop GROUP

  • I'm not sure about that last part tho, because if you look at the song that Lisa and Jennie released so far, you can tell that all of those are meant for the Western audience, and I don't think Lisa, especially Jennie want to ignore her Asian fans.

Not to mention, every Music Label will tell the artists what they should do, especially if they're rookies like them. They're not Taylor Swift, Lady Gaga or Beyonce. Those women can do whatever they want, but I'm 99% sure BP girlies can't, even if they have their own companies. They can't take any risks for years, because they need massive income so they can keep their companies.

Anyway, my point still stands. We can't judge their solo career after a couple of months. I will judge it after 5 years or so, or after BP's disbandment.

  • They will always be more relevant than Hwasa and MMM so there’s that.

You just proved my point, thank you! The fact that you're talking about someone else, rather than making a valid argument, means, MMM, especially Hwasa is more relevant. 🤣

Let's talk when BP girlies had their own SOLO World Tours, especially in the same year for all of them.

For the record: If you wanna talk about relevance. Can you mention more than ONE girl group with all members doing their Solo World Tour? You can't. Mamamoo is pretty much the only girl group who did that! End of story, I guess.

  • well BP the group is still under YG no?

As for their solo success, I would assume what they are doing is unprecedented in kpop. But isn't everything BP does unprecedented? They are pioneers, trailblazers, the best thing since sliced bread, etc. We shall never see another gg with members like BP where each is as big a star in their own right as the group itself. They simply transcend the average kpop gg

BP is under YG but they have nothing to do with these solo releases.

Having your own label means doing whatever you want. You don't have to be Taylor Swift or Beyonce to do that.

BP members will make and register their own companies and you'll forever claim they don't have freedom so let's not debate on this.

Nah, I don't think that's true, because I worked with artists, they weren't big as BP, not even in the media, so technically they can do whatever they want, and you know what happened? All of them stopped doing music. Why? Because they didn't have enough income from concerts and album sales.

That's why I said, even tho BP is massive, they spent BILLIONS to start their own companies, they have many employees as well, they can't just do whatever they want. Sure, if they release actual albums like Rose and even Jennie will soon, they can create some nice B-Sides, but their Title Tracks have to be the same trendy Tiktok songs, and they HAVE TO create a LOT of song in the next 2-3 years so they can go on tour and sell albums, because without that their company will fail. And they have to do it fast, because they won't be in the mainstream media for long. That's how this industry works. Especially in the Western countries.

Having a freedom and doing whatever you want is not the same thing, btw. Anyone who think, an artist can do whatever they want, they never worked in this industry. Just watch Documentaries, and you'll know what I'm talking about.
