overall I guess that when Japanese population is big then younger generation has grown much taller than previous ones, of course not everyone, but still you posted lot of guys who are actually over 180

On the other hand there was a boygroup called under7 who's concept was to be short since all member had been under 1,60m till their shortest member left and they added a new member who is over 1,70

And the currently tallest guy in JPop is 1,91m tall. It's Raul of Snow Man. The 2nd tallest is Rikito from ODDLORE and Nibansenji from MeseMoa, who are 1,88m. Next up are Weesa of PSYCHIC FEVER and Kenshi Yonezu with 1,87m. I thought this was it, till I recently saw on the profile of PSYCHIC FEVER that a trainee, who didn't debut with them was 1,91m apparently but most of the tall guys in JPop groups are often mixed or not even Japanese at all, like in Orbit their tallest member is Korean.

I mean on the world stage that height matters, in whole history of NBA there were about 25 players below 175cm. Maybe in Japanese league it's different, especially in the past. Shorter, fast guys who can dribble and score from far away are precious to the teams of course.

Allen Iverson was 183 - I know it's much more but still he looked so short amongst other players, yet he is one of my all time favs

my understanding is that most of the tall towers are mixed

there is Yuta Watanabe too, but his case is special because both of his parents were also basketball players so I guess he has it in his DNA

and then you have much shorter guys like Togashi and Kawamura, so maybe that would be the spot for Hokuto, a poing guard position
