Stop using fandoms as a personality trait!!!!

It’s incredibly frustrating when serious conversations are derailed by fandom biases. Instead of engaging thoughtfully, people often dismiss points based on which fandom someone belongs to. For example, if you express a well-considered opinion on a sensitive topic, which concerns you as person regardless of who you’re stanning, but you might be met with, "Oh, that's rich coming from a [fandom],"…. Like what do you mean??? As if your arguments are invalid just because of your fan identity.
This issue goes beyond typical fan wars… it's a deeper problem of not being able to engage respectfully with differing viewpoints. It’s concerning how some can only be civil within their own fandoms, while interactions with others are filled with tension and passive-aggressiveness.
Take for instance discussions about BTS and BLACKPINK. Fans often get so wrapped up in defending their favorite group that they lose sight of the broader conversation. It's sad because many of us might actually get along well if we could set aside our fan personas for a damn second lol.
We’re all here because we love K-pop, so why not focus on that shared passion?
Imagine a K-pop forum where discussions are engaging, without the constant undercurrent of fandom rivalry. We could learn so much from each other and enjoy our shared interests without the unnecessary hostility.
Well said.
Actually, I have that in Allkpop most of the time.
I have the annoying users blocked, so I won't see their threads at all. I do see when they post in someone else's thread, but it's hidden so unless I choose to read what they actually say, it is meaningless.
I recommend people on Twitter to block haters as well.
Engaging only drives up their numbers and that is just helpful for the ones wanting a large audience.
Sometimes hate is spread almost solely by a fandom because they start to quote-retweet with rebuttals. So stupid.
I like reading the posts of most Blinks here or are at least neutral on them.
If Kpop fandoms actually supported each other even if just with a stream or two on comebacks, Kpop would take over the world and there would be like 10+ groups amongst the biggest artists in the world

I was nodding until I got here. Beg to differ. If I had to go by the posts I see, some folks here absolutely hate kpop. Gotta wonder if the real shared passion among those folks is fighting
There are some guys here that in great detail know the stats of 1373874 charts/sales/ticket sales/streams of not just their own faves, but their rivals, past groups and groups that have one random stan that insulted their group once two years ago.
This is exactly the group that I have mostly blocked. They don't care about Kpop, but only care about arguing and stirring up hatred.

A lot of people have ego issues, and it's not too hard to see right through all the overcompensating they do.
They itch for a sense of superiority over others. This sensation makes them feel more dignified and better than the person they're disagreeing with, but it's all pretense. It's an illusion. The truth is they're miserable and they know it.
Bullies bully because they want to feel superior to others, but we all know bullying is wrong. So what do they do? They latch onto an ideology or a cause to justify why they're bullying a person. They latch onto the name of a fandom to feel like they're taking one for the team, but in the end, it's all for their own ego.
My faves never did this bad thing, but yours did. Therefore, I'm better than you.
My faves sold more albums than yours did. Therefore, I'm better than you.
It's bullying. It's elitism. It's sometimes even racism. It's all of that disguised as performative activism.

Well, at least one of the worst of them seems to be permagone

Wouldn't know which one as I have them blocked, but sounds good
