    K-Pop girl group FIFTY FIFTY, who shocked everyone with one of the biggest contract disputes in K-Pop, has finally announced its first trial date.


    Last December, ATTRAKT filed a lawsuit worth 13.0 billion KRW (about $9.41 million USD), against FIFTY FIFTY members Saena, Sio, Aran, and their parents.


    The defendants have submitted responses to the complaint and confirmed the date for the first trial, August 29.


    FIFTY FIFTY rose to fame for entering the Billboard Hot 100 chart 130 days after debuting with its hit song, “Cupid,” making it the record for the shortest period in K-Pop history.


    However, not long after, the members announced through a legal representative that caused a stir in the industry.


    On June 19, 2023, the Seoul Central District Court received a file for an injunction to suspend the exclusive contract with ATTRAKT.


    Most recently, ATTRACT announced they had recruited four new members and are preparing for an album to make a comeback in September.

    They basically screwed themselves over when Keena came clean and literally made it clear that all the members and their parents were well aware of what Ahn Sung-il from The Gvers was doing.


    Those members were no longer victims when they kept attacking Attrakt after Keena revealed what was happening.

    They aren't cutthroat, the company is protecting their rights to not get screwed over AND if they are pathetic to let everyone walk over them like you suggest then the company deserve to get dissolved.

    What are they getting screwed out of? You actually think the 50/50 brand was ever worth that much? They were always destined to be one hit wonders, and I guarantee he won't find similar success with his new version of the group either. At least the initial surprise success and following scandal put his company's name out there, which could have produced more interest -- or at least curiosity -- than is probably deserved. But this lawsuit is a bad look. This is just a small fry company trying to wring these kids for everything they're worth and then some, and I predict it's going to backfire.
