[Feedback] Lack of transparency within akp.

  • How I understand it. The rules were meant to encourage more opinions at the risk of offending people sure but overall creating a more versatile environment not encouraging of sjw behaviour where we all moan and cry about things and then the staff come and close it up.

Not only have the rules and their standards not been followed but there has also been a bunch of added things that should not be punished but they are.

For example 'mega thread' why should someone's thread be merged that does not violate the rules because someone made a big thread and doesn't want to see them in the main section??

    Here are the rules.

    the rules

    • No spamming or double posting. Stay on topic.
    • Post in appropriate sections and use proper descriptive thread titles.
    • No hate speech, racism, sexual harrasment, and posting of graphic imagery, or pornography.
    • No advertisting of any sites.
    • No doxxing or revealing PID of members or staff.
    • Respect the staff.

Where does it say that we can't make similar topics about major topics right now ???

Where is the transparency there is none.

And also moving a thread to the current events section even though it's clearly about kpop idols and their takes ???? It's literally directly K-pop news and takes.

'post in appropriate section ' takes about K-pop idols or news is KPOP current events is for non K-pop events world-wide.... Like I said there is no transparency things are being added and changed and users are getting punnished.

I understand things may have changed since I left but then why not announce it, change the rules then.. go and be transparent about it.

I'd never go and move someone's thread without having a clear rule violation in mind that's how it should be. You know I'm right.

  • Somebody is feeling hurt:

Do you want me to explain the part where all warnings are at the moderator's discretion?

Doubt it, since you were staff.

Do you want me to explain Don't Shit where you eat?

Doubt it, since you were there when it was made.

Want me to explain the warning points?

Happy to. They had to be doubled because the system you had in place was wrong and we still have to deal with it, while adjusting the maths.

But eh, let's hate and victimise ourselves, because you don't agree with the wp you've been given for trolling.

Mate, if you get reported, we have to act. Period.

And most of the times we actually give you leeway BECAUSE of the time time you spent as staff.

    For me, that stops now.

  • All I'm asking is that you and the rest be transparent. It's obvious you want to mod the forum your own way and not the way Johnny and I wrote the rules with.

Then go and change the rules then add all your sjw rules and locking up threads, add your policing.

And leeway? Yeah right. Maybe one staff member would stand up for me the rest of you have been harrassing me for my takes since I came back. I have proof about that I've been threatened by your ass. Now I'm getting leeway??

    Hilarious.

  • Lets see:

All I'm asking is that you and the rest be transparent. It's obvious you want to mod the forum your own way and not the way Johnny and I wrote the rules with.

Those rules were written by johnny  2yr @ripia and I.

And you left when you didn't get your way.

Then go and change the rules then add all your sjw rules and locking up threads, add your policing.

No rules were changed except the math on the warning points. I can provide receipts on that.

And leeway? Yeah right. Maybe one staff member would stand up for me the rest of you have been harrassing me for my takes since I came back. I have proof about that I've been threatened by your ass. Now I'm getting leeway??

The owner did not stand up for you mate. What are you on about?

Yet we still discussed each and every wp in the staff chat.

The threat? Was to make you realise that there are a lot of users who hate you so you correct your behaviour.

But go ahead. Copy and paste it.

  • You think people don't like me I have not had a single person say anything good about you ever, you've driven away many users. You used to be cool back in the day but now you're just another pet for ves now.

1-2k post count great job mate. Go and warn me again it eventually is gonna add up to ban. Done with this topic.

with one correction, ain't a pet to Ves

We fight all the time lol.

  • I was just gonna say be a bit heavier with the delete button :pepe-tinfoil-hat:

we tried that, but we got complaints that we are restricting freedom of speech.

Then we tried editing, that didn't work.

Well not until we started leaving edit notes for why they were edited.

I'd rather not have to delete or edit anything. But that's an utopia where every user here likes eachother lol

  • idk i think the only the honest feedback is that there's certain users who have banned multiple times and they're somehow back for whatever reason even tho they shouldnt be lol

that is because we don't IP ban. Because that would ban an entire class of IP's.

Which means over 65k IPs(2 to the power of 16) so that is pretty much an entire country with IPv6.

Not a recommendation but are thread bans still a thing you can do?

I remember it being a thing on the old forum but don't think I've seen it since the revamp?

  • AlexS Is literally one of the worst forum moderators I’ve seen. Biased, random, doesn’t have any fixed standards he follows.

But like who would even willingly moderate this shithole so I cut him slack. Although some people aren’t meant to be MODs and he’s one of it.

Then please share how you think I can improve?

    And to further the forum?

  • The thing is, this forum can be super biased depending on which groups the mods like. I've noticed that posts about other idols and groups stay up for long time even if it turn so nasty, but if it's about certain other groups (and it's so obvious which ones), those posts get closed really fast.

But honestly, the forum is pretty dead anyway, and even this bias is just one of the reasons, I do think there's no point in arguing about it anymore.

mate, this has been a discussion for over 15 years now.

I for one am an Once. But I gave wp to both Once and to those attacking Twice.

I really don't think it's bias, it is more bias perceived from an outside point of view.

  • Moderating is like a scale that will never get balanced. Every time you try one thing someone complains and then you try another thing and it still isn't right. People feel we restrict people's freedoms and then people feel they are being bullied and we're not punishing people hard enough. In a perfect world everyone would be satisfied. :peperain:

you know better than most how many times I wanted to go nuclear on a thread. :ak_denieseban:

But that is never the answer :nayeon3:

Yeah I don't think people realize it's not easy being a moderator especially on forums. I was a moderator on a sports forum and everyone always felt like I was being biased to the fans of the team I support. You can never win.

It is the staff's responsibility to make sure they are not being biased. But it is also the member's responsibility to trust the staff and hope they make the right decisions. The only thing that's in your hands is to use the report button. How to work on the reports is on the staff. And you as a member should respect the decisions. Be it against yourself.

that's why we keep each other in check and we pretty much confirm with each other when something major happens.

Just to make sure we crossed our t's. Not because we need approval. But because we need backup.

    It got that bad, yes.
