Golden Child 3rd gen or 4th gen???

I mean people seem to be on board with The Boyz being 4th gen so I guess that makes Golden Child 4th gen too.
-
I consider them 3rd

4th generation = 2018 rookies award nominees
-
I think 4th gen. Stray Kids first song released in 2017, although they officially debut in 2018. People keep saying they are 4th gen. So, I guess 2017 is the start of 4th gen

I consider them 19th gen

3rd gen

If they're 4th gen so is ONF. And that doesn't make sense.

People call nct 4th gen due to the new units that keep debuting every year which is wrong to me since I consider them 3rd gen
I think stray kids and the other groups from 2018 is the earliest the new gen has begun. Many people even consider 2019 as the beginning. Either way, I'm 100% sure golden Child are 3rd gen. Part of the last 3rd gen groups or the so called 3.5 gen groups

It really doesn't. I personally don't like The Boyz being 4th gen either. I feel like the 2017 groups (Golden Child, ONF, The Boyz, A.C.E.) all mark the end of the 3rd gen even if some of them have gone on to incorporate things from the 4th gen.

I once saw a comment that said "yall call any group that doesn't outdo the top 3rd gen groups 4th gen in order to make them look better", and I keep thinking about that.
The reason I see TBZ as 4th gen is because they got rookie awards along with SKZ and Gidle.
ONF and Golden Child were eligible for ROTY when Wanna One debuted, so any chance at getting big was snuffed.

but if you truncate a decimal number to the nearest whole number, it always rounds down, so it really depends on your personal opinion of when 3rd gen ends and 4th gen starts

Yeah, but that method is barely used in anything other than computing, programme and softwares. Rounding is used in majority things including accounting, finance, maths, economics, day to day profiting etc... also rounding is clearly the fairer as it has both opportunities to round either up or down, depending on the decimal numbers, whereas truncate only decreases to the whole number, again hence why it's not very accurate and doesn't give the best approximation to the original number.
