Is it cruel to say that if I were the CEO of one of the Big 3, I would take this opportunity to decrease Hybe's girl groups' popularity and influence?

    In this current gg landscape, Hybe is still dominating as they have two girl groups that are doing well and one rookie with a viral hit both in Korea and internationally. NewJeans didn’t do as well as before, but that’s understandable given their current situation. Groups like Gidle and Aespa have been in similar situations and managed to bounce back. Lsrfm and Illit are receiving a lot of backlash too, but their songs are still doing well and this probably hardly giving any effect to them. So, I wonder if any of the big 3 ceo trying to make the whole situation more complicated for Hybe gg.


    If Lee Soo Man were here, he would definitely take this opportunity to worsen the situation and try to bury all three of Hybe’s girl groups or at least ruining their reputation more to give more space to his own gg. More media plays, attacking the girls personalities, and creating more rumours to escalate the situation—it’s just a rare opportunity to exploit the weaknesses of all Hybe girl groups at the same time. Hybe is busy fighting for themselves, and these three girl groups are at their lowest point with less protection and guard. Fans would likely think it’s the work of the the opposite parties and will not suspecting outsiders, which is a bonus.


    SM and Tbl will debut their girl groups soon too, and Baemon's biggest rival is Illit. So, Illit, Lsf and Nj downfall will be celebrated by these companies. It's such a perfect timeline to get rid the 3 biggest competition from the biggest company at the same time.


    But don’t take this seriously. I'm not the CEO of any of the Big 3; I'm just curious if they will use this opportunity to weaken Hybe's domination in the girl group landscape. Because honestly, in business perspective, the timeline is just perfect for them.

    There is also Teddy with TBL GG which can get the hype just because he is the producer.

    Just as there was absolute nothing wrong with BSH (being a businessman and a Chairman of a conglomerate, at that) , as being quoted, to want to crush Aespa, there is absolutely nothing wrong with taking the advantage of this opportunity to use it to any of Big 3 companies advantage.


    That's the way the business goes. There is no crying when you are leading a big company. Companies even have their spies. It's a natural occurrence.

    True, after i unstanned gidle in mid 2021, weeekly became my most favourite group and remained my top favs for almost 3 years but the two years long hiatus and basically no content made me kinda lose interest in them. Now they got replaced by newjeans as my #1 group but i still like them tho. If given proper promotion and support they could have atleast become a stayc level group but now it doesn't seems there's any hope.

    You would just be realistic, the music industry business is not a tea party and other companies have been engineering bad press for their rivalries since forever.


    Sadly jyp fools are too incompetent for it, their girl groups will be the only ones to not capitalize this, sm is already doing it with aespa, yg used lesserafim coachella fiasco to promote babymonster, jyp can't even set up a simple "the sound is off let's sing acapella" moment without messing up and folding immediately, those morons are truly helpless.

    Yes but you have to balance it, and not go too overboard.


    Because if MHJ survives, it is only a matter of time until she starts smearing your groups, including boy groups when she debuts her boy group.


    So imo you want to damage Hybe, but also make sure that MHJ is will not be a future competitor too.
