Today is May 8th, Parents' day in Korea.
Unlike many countries Korea did not have the wherewithal to set up both Father's and Mother's day at the beginning so it was just Mother's day, and some people complained that fathers have to be honored too, so it became Parents' day.
In Asian culture, Kings and Teachers were supposed to be honored in the same league with the Parents. Obviously there would be different rules for Kings, but Teachers were held in a higher regard.
That led to a very strange situation in KPop, since MAMA gave IU the lifetime achievement award on Dec 4, 2014, making her a Senior Singer of Kpop, despite of the inconvenient fact that she is not part of KPop, having sung no KPop songs, and no KPop singer or act follows her tradition.
So she is kind of a teacher and kind of a parent on all these internationally prominent Kpop acts, alt.
hough how that is possible is kind of blurry.
Ironically her tenure as a Senior Singer will end on Dec 31, 2025, thanks to a constitutional case the late Goo Hara's brother brought
She sang this on the day Goo Hara died.

But the suit Goo Hara's brother brought , joined by many in similar situations, would end the rights of parents who abandoned their children , as well as children who did not take care of their parents, to inherit the properties.
That ended the rights of parents, which was supposedly given because of the virtue of birthing them. That enabled parents who abandoned their children at young age to come out from the woodwork to claim a huge chunk of the compensation.
Since Lee Jieun had a Grand Total of zero songs on Billboard Hot 100, and had not shown any intention to contribute to KPop's Global Success and only attempts a concert out of Asia this year, with her non-Asian leg of concert not having started at the time of the ruling, it can be now successfully proven that Lee Jieun neglected her duty of being a Senior Singer of Kpop, so her status of Kpop's Senior Singer will probably end on Dec 31, 2025, lifting all obligation of Kpop acts on having to honor her.
Bibi put a big bucket of shit to the ex-Senior-Singer-to-be, and now Gidle's Fate is in contention for annual Melon #1. If that happens Minnie's foresight to refuse to pay filial duty to IU last year could be seen as a wise idea except for this

When Bang Sihyuk launched I land i with MNet his choice to sing the signal song for it was quite questionable.
Bang made a nonKPopper, and someone who was directly competing with BTS for the Singer of the Year, to sing the signal song!
A bunch of people, including Bang himself, wrote the song. (Hybe policy does not discriminate between the lyricist and the composer, something Ador has defied in the upcoming New Jeans single album where Danielle Marsh is credited on lyrics, but not on the music)
Enhypen paid its filial duty to IU on Sep 17-18, 2022, when IU had the huge concert at the Olympic Stadium and Enhypen had a much smaller concert on the same day, (as well as Stray Kids, which did its concert at the Gymnastics, much smaller than the Olympic stadium)
Now the I-land 2 program is no longer associated with Hybe. Teddy's Black Label now manages it, and Rose sang its signal song.
Those who are younger might think this is greater than the song sung by the ex-Senior-Singer-to-be.
But that song is actually adapted from the song "Final Countdown", from the Swedish band called 'Europe'.
It is still heard, with a 1.2 billion views.
Which signal song would be better? By someone who has neglected her duties as a Senior Singer of Kpop until it is too late, or an adaptation of a famous 1980s song by someone who contributed so much to KPop despite of not being a Korean?
