The Conservative Faction, which tended to be more hostile for KPop, lost the general election badly, around 115 against the opposition faction of 184, with a couple seats changing either way. (There are a few minor parties leaning here or there, and such figures include them)
Which basically has finished up the current government, which will limp along for 3 more years, accomplishing essentially nothing for all practical purposes as everything it might do will be checked by the congress.
The Opposition faction has been traditionally friendly with KPop.
Which means the current Minister of Culture, a 73 years old veteran actor, will pack his bags soon and someone hopefully more in tune with the current culture will take that positin.
In other words, the 4 BTS members born after 2024, if they had stuck till now, would probably have gotten the military exemption. I think Seventeen, who has 4 foreigners (2 Chinese, 2 American) and the leader who are already exempt, will be the biggest beneficiary of this, since it will be considered as the only act which could possibly succeed BTS.If
That will only increase the rift between RM & Jungkook vs Jimin & Taehyung, who are much less likely to re-sign with Hybe after 2027 now.
I have argued about why Hybe did not do a world concert without Seokjin.
A more astute business move would have been do concerts without him, and maybe Yoongi and Hoseok, since the younger 3 members were the more 'essential' of the group.
If that was done, Taylor Swift would not have been able to run around the world and she would NEVER have become the Person of the Year 2023.
Newer Hybe acts no longer respect BTS. TWS and Illit do not know BTS, and they might indeed pay respect to a certain soloist in a rival company before they do that to BTS, making the soloist in the rival company very happy.
Bang, RM or whoever they were talking to probably judged that the ruling party would win the election, a very huge miscalculation which has created a rift between the members, and a bunch of new Hybe acts who would rather jump on BTS as soon as they can.
