Why I love "EASY" by LE SSERAFIM

  • I love "EASY" because it's what would have gotten me into K-pop if I didn't like K-pop.

We all know how groundbreaking and different "ANTIFRAGILE" is, but I'm not sure my "pre-K-pop" self would have liked it. If you played "EASY" for me back in 2012, it would have been my gateway into this world. It's going to be my most played LE SSERAFIM song. I already know they're converting tons of non-K-pop or anti-K-pop people into K-pop fans with this one.

And the English version? Phew... I love it. They're paying tribute to Y2K R&B and doing it justice.

  • Ironically, fast and loud songs are what got me into K-Pop, even though I stayed for the chill ones.

Easy is an amazing song. What amazes me the most is the contrasting between the song itself and the choreography, An easy melody, easy lyrics, and a really fast and swag choreo. Just amazing.

  • Also, they actually sing about being an Idol. They sing about being on the stage and how easy they make it look.

None of the "confidence" concept groups I know did that.

That's a good point! I can't believe I forgot to mention this. I prefer songs that aren't just about love or heartbreak because I think people should learn to appreciate themselves and their alone time first.

I appreciate this song so much for having lyrics that relate to the group's identity. Kazuha's ballet line? Straight fire.

Casual empowerment is how I would describe "EASY" by LE SSERAFIM.

  • Not only Easy. The whole album is my personal taste this time. They are all different types but somehow still sounds cohesive to me.

I think it's due to each song having a strong focus on strength and empowerment while also being really nonchalant and chill about it. It's a diversion from their usual high-energy bops. Even though the songs on this EP incorporate different genres, they all have this calm, cool, and collected energy about them.

"Good Bones" - Sets the tone for the EP

"EASY" - Shining and believing in yourself despite any adversity that comes your way

"Swan Song" - Knowing people are saying negative things about you, yet you keep doing what you set out to do (like a black swan)

"Smart" - Believing in yourself enough to know that you're a winner no matter what

"We got so much love" - This one is the only one that's different from the others. I don't want to elaborate on it because "I'm an anti-romantic."

  • it's funny for me it's like the exact opposite

what got me into kpop was the crazy weirdness that only kpop has like boom boom, russian roulette, and you know all that cute concept twice stuff

at first when i got into kpop i didn't even like blackpink because when i heard boombaya i thought it sounded too much like american songs which i don't like

lately though i've become desensitized to things i don't really like in kpop cause i've basically run out of girl group songs to listen to so i'll take anything i can get lol

easy isn't bad though but if i heard it when i was first getting into kpop i wouldve hateedd it

  • That's an "easy" yes!

    for me

I love "FEARNOT" too. Great and sweet song for the fans.

Tentatively, I have "Blue Flame" as my close second. When "Perfect Night" dropped, people claimed they were going the NewJeans route with the chill songs, but they had always been doing it since the beginning. Their discography was always set to have that duality.
