LE SSERAFIM "EASY" EP Discussion Thread

Easy and We Got so much are bops.

Don't know why but the song intro reminds me of Kill Bill.

I really like the turn they've taken. I have high expectations because on first listen Perfect Night didnt stand out but it grew on me so much and i still have it on my playlist.

I also feel like there are two camps; the ones who like noise music and NMIXX who hate this turn and people who acc have taste 😂 But their title songs were mostly aimed at the first camp so ig why people r upset.

Easy also reminds me of that one Drake song 💀 but blocking that image out

Pretty below-average album, especially compared to UNFORGIVEN, but here's my order.

1. Smart - 8/10: Should've been the title track!

2. We got so much - 7/10: nice vibey song.

3. Swan Song - 6/10: another good, vibey song.

4. Good Bones - 5/10: meh, leading to another one...

5. Easy - 3/10: ...and I was kind. Most boring song in 2024 so far.

I wish I liked it more.

First 2 EPs were perfect, not sure what happened since last year. Eve was a standout because it harkened back to what LSFM promised to be: a kpop group with a strong focus on harder-edged dance music. I don't know why Source is so determined to dilute their sound.

Surprising I disliked the intro but it stands out the most.

The album overall is their most cohesive since fearless but the only great track is We got so much the rest is just mid. I’m sorry.

Some people are saying it's a copy of perfect night (may I remind you, this song was written BEFORE perfect night was released). Others say it's a complete departure from their typical sound and it sucks

Meanwhile, when unforgiven was released, people said they need to stop using the same 'antifragile' formula (which again, unforgiven was written BEFORE antifragile)

It's that wonderful phenomenon of "can't please everybody", so I like groups that don't try to and don't stick to one crowd pleasing signature sound just for people to later accuse them of playing it safe and/or growing stale.

I am really enjoying this mini, and the performances from the showcase were fantastic; the choreo was top tier.

It's funny, but Easy is the first time in a long time where I thought "a couple good bars of rap might actually take this song to the next level", but I still like what we got.
