As long as they are under contract, anything that goes public can only pass by permission from the CEO. And they hire PR people and lawyers to take care of communications. Obviously they have to speak to the idols to get facts, but the public will only 'hear' what the CEO wants even if it's completely the opposite of what the idol said
If you see an apology, it might have been forced and without the idol giving their actual side
If you see a denial, it might have been forced by the company because they think they could get away with it
