NCT WayVs comeback! The style and MV doesn’t justify the song- Kickback

I loved everyone's styling except Xiaojun and Kun in some parts. Rest, I love the way they did Curls for Hendery, Yangyang rocking that bowl cut with highlights, Ten as usual charming, Win-Win's styling in the half part of MV will always be superior especially him doing tic toc tic part and Lucas making everyone drool UWU.

Wayv lose thiers uniq sound. Sm just make them sound like another NCT noise now. You can notice there is no quitar solo on these title track.

I don't like the song at all so not sure if another style will change it (my opinion obvious), sometimes i wonder who chose this title tracks, all SM groups lately has the same sound for their title tracks.

Yeah the second part of the chorus reminds me of Moonwalk. WayV's sound isn't just guitar solos and hoe anthems, they have always had that NCT element as well or are these people acting like WayV hasn't released Take Off or Turn Back Time?

Anyways as a title track it's true that it's kinda lackluster imo coming from Turn Back Time and the Resonance era, it was supposed to be Awaken The World's repackage at first and it shows, although WayV's mini albums tts MVs except Take Off had not really been that expensive.

Kick Back is a very good song and I really enjoy the second part of the chorus but I can see why it has such low views, it just doesn't live to the expectations of a new WayV cb when it comes to teasers, promos, MV and the first part of the chorus is a little bit "plain" so yeah after Turn Back Time and Resonance era I do think WayV deserved better for a new mini album. But well I kinda undertand it and enjoy it anyway.

Haven't heard the rest of the album yet tbh, but yeah those were my impressions of the tt.

Yeah they don't have as much views as the other units but for how slow the views are growing the MV will be like Moonwalk's views at most which is still pretty low compared to Take Off, Turn Back Time, or Love Talk. I blame this more on the promotion of the album and on how low budget the MV is for the standards we are in than on the song itself. SM really treated WayV on this cb like it's a repackage but they just decided to make it a new mini in order to sell some more because they know WayV's fandom has grown. I just hope they try a little more on their next releases (specially when they release their 2nd full album) because it's really hard to grow your fandom a lot with comebacks like these.

It's just that after Resonance era where NCT sold around 2,7 million albums SM is acting like we are on 2019, WayV just debuted and they barely have fans. 127's Gimme Gimme MV was also cheap as fuck but ok it's a japanese mini album and by then NCT wasn't selling that much on Japan ok I get it, but SM really could have tried a little more with WayV this cb imo, good they are selling much better than before anyways tho.

I think Action Figure is the better track on this mini and should have been the lead off but then I often think WayV’s bsides are better than their tt (except Take Off because that’s my jam.) I think the style and the overall album are very WayV and very distinct from the NCT sound, noticeably because the vocalists and rappers’ skills and styles are so very different.

WayV has actually reached its highest chart highs on this comeback on both Korean and Chinese charts, so they’re doing perfectly well for what they are. They are definitely showing a boost from Resonance era activities in terms of sales and awareness.

WayV only had one song on Resonance, although obviously the members were rotated into the U units to show off their skills and build interest in them in their main unit.

I don’t think comparing this to Resonance makes sense at all. Resonance is a large scale “event” under the brand umbrella so of course its more expensive and impactful. It would be more appropriate to compare to their last album or mini, and I would say in comparison to that they’re really showing great growth on all of their vocal abilities and dance skills, likely coming out of the Resonance work. I don’t think Kick Back shows it very well but the choreo for Action Figure is Fire. I also like All For Love, which is very WayV bsidey style.
