I actually love the fact that Korean award shows are getting more and more irrelevant as Kpop is geting more global.

there is always the consideration that mnet did invite such groups to attend and those groups have said no or "wait and see"

The difficulty is that many of the trending groups might already have schedules so by the time they got an invite could have been too late for them to attend.

Mnet can't predict the future and unlike in the 3rd gen where they had more influence, the reality is, Kpop groups have outgrown most Korean Music Shows where Inkigayo is the only major one they will attend
