Do you think YG Entertainment will survive this time?

  • If their groups start failing they probaly just debut some more groups. If BM is not a huge success they probably will debut a new smaller four member group similar to 2NE1 and BP or they maybe will do that anyway. It's still a bit of mystery why they never have more than one girlgroup at the same time.

  • It's reasonable that if YGE do fall far and have financial turmoil in their future the current owners of TBL could buy those shares and break off. However I don't really see that happening considering they benefit a lot from the infrastructure, distribution and connections set up and provided by YG.

Teddy and his staff would have most of the same connections, and Teddy could just grab a few key YG staff to fill in whatever connections they are lacking. Shouldn't be too hard if YGE was actually dying.

I was wondering why Teddy and TBL were getting involved with Iland2 when they had their own gg group in development. I think Teddy is just using the program to promote TBL itself (separate from YG), like how Yang Hyun-suk and Park Jin-young used/use survival programs to promote YG and JYP.

TBL is establishing itself as a major kpop label (they were originally a small r&b/hiphop label), first with Somi (solo), then Taeyang (veteran solo), now with Iland2 (group they wont manage themselves), and eventually with tblgg (group).
