The Opportunity Cost of BTS not abandoning Korea would be north of $10 billion

  • Because iu is better singer than bts and bp both? If competition was about being problematic cringe oppars then bts would have been selected and if competition was about zero talent insta model sleep dance champions then bp would have been selected.

IU is a better singer than them , for the Koreans. Otherwise she should be ranked higher in other countries

It showed how little the Koreans appreciated BTS's achievement

  • Ever since 5050 got ended u have become serious anti korea

Ikr these delusional clowns 🤡🤡🤡. They don't seem to understand that despite it's flaws the vast majority of Koreans are more like their American Republicans they talk so negatively about. Most Koreans like their country and are very patriotic. There's a 90% that these anti Korea clowns would get slapped in the mouth by their faves all this clown shit about BTS they maybe idols but they are Korean at the end of the day and that doesn't change just because they dance and sing.

  • This whole mindset is sickening.

You're essentially implying they should sell their cultural identity and soul for money. That's asinine and sociopathic.

I'm afraid your brain is fried from all the mental gymnastics you do trying to justify your disdain for Korea. This obsession's gotten ridiculous.

KPop is not exactly representing the "Korean" cultural identity anyways.

The last good lyricist in Korean Pop, whether we like or not , is IU who has not written any lyrics palatable to non-Korean fans.

The Weeknd does not advertise his Ethiopian roots.

Olivia Rodrigo does not advertise her Filipino roots.

What is the obligation for the KPop people to emphasize their cultural identity and soul when Korea does not really contribute a sizable portion to their profits?

  • That reminds me of an interview with Teddy Park, he does not seem to identify with the term KPop, he was saying something like "if Korean people make music it's KPop, then why don't they do that for every country? What is KPop?" I think because he grew up in the US he does not identify with the nationalistic pride in KPop.

Isn't alot of KPop produced by Swedish, Americans and other nationalities. What is even the point of taking nationalistic pride in manufactured pop music anyway? Back in the late 60's pop music was already being seen as commercial not artistic.

I don't think I've ever seen the Canadian PM Justin Trudeau going on about how Justin Bieber is the pride of Canada or something like that, even poor Latin America countries don't seem to do that for people like Bad Bunny or whoever is supposed to be popular in the US now

KPop has now escaped Korea's reach. People like Christopher Bang and Felix would not waste time in the military since they are already Australians.

Like Golf and Yoga, KPop has become universal.
