While being in fandoms and fandom politics/toxicity have diminished my mental health before…(that’s why I distanced myself from it all)
K-pop groups themselves have had an overall positive effect on my mental health.
I had a therapy appointment today and it was the first one in a few months since I fell off (and my mental health has gotten so bad)
So I listened to Get Up album on the drive there and I found that it was so much easier than I expected.
NewJeans may get slack for being too “chill” or whatever, but they’ve genuinely helped my anxiety.
Listening to their songs have helped improve my mood overall, especially when I have to do something challenging.
Whereas groups like Blackpink, Le Sserafim, Gidle, Aespa, Exo and BTS have such hype music and I listen to them a lot when I work out and it feels so great.
Set Me Free by Jimin is one of my faves for sprinting at the moment!
Working out in general helps me mentally and enjoying these amazing groups while exercising has helped me a lot.
