EXO - EXIST full comeback overview!!!!

So, folks…..

EXO did it again. For anyone who’s attention span is less than the current viral tiktok song runtimes, THIS IS THE ALBUM OF THE YEAR.

For those who want my detailed thoughts about this :- Hear me out…..

When Suho stated that they will be making comeback at the start of the year, EXOPLANET had never been more alive. For more than 4.5 years without a “full group” comeback and 3.5 years without a studio album, we were pretty stoked for this.

Then SM delayed it due to their usual incompetence. Now, did it dampen excitement? Nope.

Then EXO’CLOCK happened as well as EXO CHANNEL THE BEST. 4 days of EXO performance greatness. It was so good to see them hold a sold out fanmeet across 80000+ attendees. They showed glimpse of what they were cooking in the lab and it was monumental.

Then spoiler king Baekhyun said they will be going back to their PATHCODE roots for this comeback. 3 MVs….. let that sink in…

3 FUCKIN’ EXO MUSIC VIDEOS IN A SINGLE CALENDAR YEAR!!!! What is this???? 2015???

However, the album teaser era was bumpy mainly on SM’s part. They announced the comeback earlier due to them getting their asses kicked legally by CBX.

Let Me In was abruptly released with less than 12 hour notice. Teasers were released AFTER MV. Have you ever seen such mismanagement??? Yep. You will see that with EXO frequently. Anyway, the teasers itself were pretty great, variety was good. Although I did hope for highlight medley or even just Pathcode like teasers.

One thing which was nice was that we went into album completely blind. We didn’t know what to expect other than 2 previously released tracks.

Side note :- Preorder period was fun seeing EXO break their personal best records 11 years into their career. A rare feat. I hope EXO knows EXO-Ls will always wait for them no matter what.

Now onto the album itself,

After listening to it, 5 times as a whole, it’s among their best. Better than Obsession, XOXO and Ex’Act. These albums are juggernauts on their own especially Obsession and Ex’Act (both sonically experimental album to an extent).

This album in particular had much stronger heavier beats. Very much electronic influenced than their past releases. More modern, if you will. Not to mention, it’s a pretty solid cohesive album from start to finish.

CREAM SODA is the best title track this year and will be next year until EXO eclipses this with their 2025-2026 comeback.

The producers were patiently waiting for EXO to do their magic and my god they did. Top producers and EXO specialists :- Tay Jasper, MZMC, LDN Noise, Adrian Mckinnon and many more new names added to the list.

Now onto the members, this was SUHO, Chanyeol, KAI and Sehun’s album through and through. Notice they are either lead vocalists/rappers or sub-vocalist/rappers. This doesn’t mean Main vocalists took a backseat but these 4 stood out the most to me.

Sehun and Chanyeol’s raps in this were some of their best since debut. Suho slayed every bridge and KAI took over choruses like it was nothing.

Special mention to Xiumin on those harmonies, my hidden vocal king.

I truly believe they couldn’t have made a better comeback than this. It is pitch perfect.

I would like to say Thank you to EXO for crafting this marvellous album. I hope everyone checks it out and have a blast listening to it. I certainly had the best time, and it’s one of the happiest times in my life, no joke.

Thank you EXO for existing. You made our days better and life a little more enjoyable.

Cream soda is definitely one of my favorite tts from them.

I had no idea what to expect at all because of the title but I’m so pleased with it. Like the chorus is good and they sound amazing. Idk I’m very happy with it.

This is definitely top exo title track I just don’t know where I would place it or rank it. This album feels like exo but it’s also so different it hard to like rank or place it.

HMO- I’ve liked since release it’s still a good song imo I don’t really have much to comment about it 😫

LMI- I was not feeling it at first like I didn’t get it but now I do. It just hit and I regret not liking it before 😭 This is one of their best ballads for me up there with baby don’t cry, she’s dreaming and what if

There were times I felt drained and lacked energy because so much has been happening. One moment everything was going well and next moment SM would pull another stunt.

But the mement I heard title track and whole album I felt like everything was worth the wait. I haven't been this satisfied with album in years! And what makes everything even better are members who also seem genuinely excited for this comeback.
