FIFTY FIFTY Are Already Over Before They Even Started....Is This Another Weeekly Story 2.0?

  • It can all turn around in Korea if they can prove the CEO was scamming them.

But they are like Twice and BP. They don't need Korea, since the more time they spend promoting there, the less money they make. That is why Jisoo only had 2 music show appearances when she released her song, and Twice only promoted for 1 week when they released their last song.

FiftyFifty have no fanbase anywhere. Only their song got viral. They will not be able to tour at all in any region or country.

Definitely do not have a K-pop fan base, but to think they have no fans anywhere doesn't make sense, otherwise, who's listening to their songs on Spotify?

The song went viral. They are a fan of the song, not the group. Almost no one can even name the members.

This is the truth unfortunately. I tried watching a few fanservice vids and i couldnt finish them. It's a shame, but oncamera personality and group chemistry is important to generate fan engagement and emotional investment. They could also use at least one It Girl and/or top tier visual - this too is unfortunately practically a requirement for nugu idol groups to lure in hardcore fans who will bulk buy albums, buy merch, attend multiple concerts, etc.

  • They don't have marketability if they are known as idols/celebrities who easily will sue the company.

Literally no one outside Korea cares about this scandal, and I'm guessing even there it's limited to the kpop "netizens" who no one should be wasting time worrying about.

The downside to this is FF needs to be in the States to promote right now (both the Barbie track and Cupid) and that seems in jeopardy. Their song is Top 10 at pop radio and still growing, behind the scenes drama is irrelevant to its success.

  • Four young, decently attractive Asian women singing about love, or one old obese Korean man who sings about random tropes. Who is most likely to get interest in the West?

5050 has by far more marketability.

Do you know who was also young and decently attractive and had by far more marketabilty?

    Carley Ray Jepson

    Jojo

    Gayle

    Icona Pop

And what else do they all have in common? They are one-hit wonders. And all their songs were far bigger than Cupid on top of it.

Even now, there are women like Chloe Bailey or ex-Fifth Harmony member Normani who are actually well-known and have some decent hits but a still struggling to make it.

You must think the international market is so easy, especially for Asians who have always been treated as outsiders and limited because of racism.

  • This is soooo random of me but… JoJo??? JOJO??? She debuted at 13 years old with a double smash hit debut? Which song is the one hit? Get out? Too little too late????? Then went on to have a decent acting career? And had a viral remix of marvins room?? I need you to say what year you were born immediately

JoJo is amazing. I love her. Reminds me of my years growing up. :holding-back-tears:

It was "Leave (Get Out)" that was her first hit and gave her stardom.

It was her comeback "Too Little Too Late" that became a SUPER hit. I remember when it came out. I was a big Disney Channel fan back in the day, and "Too Little Too Late" was played a lot on Radio Disney.

That was my fandom life prior to K-pop.

    Tatiana1820 might love.
