I stayed here for 3 days, so it's totally based on my experience, not saying every british people are like this
Let's start with the incovenient :
- Why british people never smiled ?
In the few days spent there, i really met only 2-3 british person who genuinely felt really welcoming and very friendly
most british had a poker face when talking to them and even when they are together, their facial expression seem harsh
- British people does look very dirty
let me explain myself, i spent 2 days walking around London for 10 hours each day
and i notice that overall London is a pretty clean city, but around 5-6pm, the city become very dirty, you see garbage bag just put on the sidewalk, tons of paper and piece of cardboard on the floor in the street and even on the road flying around
Also i went shopping in the H&m of Oxford circus and i was actually surprise to see that people here treat fitting room like some kind of trash, I tried to enter in 4 different fitting room before finally finding one who was the less messy
there was dozen of hangerr just left on the floor, people just leaving their starbucks on the floor half empty ....
- Biggest bad points !!!!!!!!
WHY IS YOUR PUBLIC TRANSPORT SYSTEM IS SO WEIRD ?????
why you doesn't make people pay the exact same price for a ticket whatever where they go etc....
why do you make ticket more expensive if you are on peak time or off peak time
if you are in Zone 1 or Zone 2 ......
why makes it so complicated when it can be so much easier ??
On the good side now :
- I love how every ethnics are just mixing together in such a normal way
i was walking and on one side there was a korean bbq, then 1 minutes later it was an Indian, then later an african restaurant etc....
people were talking indian, ukrainian, etc...;
it's so cool to see so many different culture in a same city , and have access to so many culture to discover
- The city is so pretty
it's so cool to see so many different architecture so near from each other
i fell in love with Belgravia, Westminster and Notting Hill, they are so pretty, i could just live on the street here and i would be happy for the rest of my life
- Very few cars
i don't know if it's just my impression but i was actually surprise for such a big city to see very few cars, it made the whole experience of just walking so much more enjoyable, and it really makes you want to walk for the entire day when you don't have to meat 100 cars in a street like in france
- Freedom to express whoever you want
it was pleasant to see so many people with so many different style expressing themselves so openly and not see people giving them a weird stare
- Expensive ?
Actually when i ask for advice a lot of people told me that London is really expensive, especially with food etc...
and i'm really surprise, because i find London pretty cheap or around the same price than in France, i spent the whole holiday just eating out and i must not have spend more than 50 euros on food for 3 days
- Access to culture
Love the fact that so many museum and places are free
and even if they are not free , you can actually get really close to them without having to pay
