How stage makeup actually looks like when we're used to edited idol photos

Suddenly thinking about when I was watching a sit-com from 10 years ago, where one character had to appear on TV and she used to be a news anchor from the 80's or something, so she wore makeup that was too heavy. But she didn't look good on modern camera, while in the old days her makeup would not have looked that heavy.

When will fansites stop whitewashing them

This makes sense, honestly. I remember I had to get my passport done, and I wanted to make the picture right since it'd last me ten years. I did way more contour than was normal for me, but the photo made it seem like I had nothing on.

I did look good in the end, it was just interesting seeing how little showed up under the bright flash of the passport photo camera.

Yeah, I used to do theater, and I had to wear such dark foundation because my skin looked like literal snow under the stage lights. I could make Shuhua and Dahyun (two notably pale idols) look like they'd been in the sun by comparison

I saw so many pics in the past of different J-acts and the difference between Modelpress and almost everyone else who takes pics is big

I think with Modepass pics it's the angle of the photos that look weird Ricky in the first pic is better than the second and let's admit that certain Korean makeup idols do a horrible job because they tend to give the same makeup to everyone without taking in consideration their features and skin tone lets remember how bad the makeup was in girls planet all the Chinese contest looked bad to the point that they had to do their own makeup

It's not always super dark or visible makeup right, and you just put some examples. Cause sometimes I watch the vlogs where idols are in the makeup room and they show them just before going up on stage, and they just kinda look normal like the pictures Jiminiekookie posted

I have just one memory of wearing stage makeup when I was young doing a dance performance with other little kids, now I remember it was dark and looked weird in the mirror

I thought about the same thing, why edit or filter a photo or gif and make it look unnatural. But then I realized I can kind of see the point of that because the point of idol pictures is to make them look good and as godly as possible, you know like what is the point of taking hundreds of pictures that just look mundane. Like the purpose of using bright filters and slowing the gifs a lot is to try to make them look as "legendary" as possible.

At least that's how I am guessing the perspective of fansites.
