I Don’t think idols get that recognized or followed in Korea lol. It does read like a fanfic but not because Chen is a celebrity Kek.
This rumor is one that is good to believe because he is known to be a nice person and would protect those he cares about. Also these situations aren't too uncommon there has been reports in the past about idols intervening in a life saving situation be medical or accident and sometimes criminal so with that in mind it would not surprise me if this really happened.
