    Edit: reading into the context of this quote it’s interesting that they’re clearly very conscious of how some of their songs go straight down the charts and don’t do well. Yet certain fandoms will try and convince you their faves don’t care about the perception of their music in their domestic market as soon as they start struggling there :skull:

  • I think it's a mix of factors. Star factor, visuals, talents, music and good promo often garanted by a big compagny.


    To make good music you don't need great vocalist but you need nice voices. You need talent if you want to last. (Exceptions can exist tho.)


    For example look at Taeyeon. Or IU or even Red Velvet. They all have beautiful voices and with good music they can still be very successful. While hit girls or hit groups comes and goes with trends and novelties.
