The reason why I don't read many romance books

  • because sometimes I'm scared that this romance book might contain stuff that I'm uncomfortable reading about.

Like then I would rather be reading a fluff fanfic on some fanfic website.

If I want to read romance, then I most likely read a classic or YA novel, because I feel like they are less likely to have that kind of stuff.

Even though I read an YA book this year that I later found out had that thing...

I prefer romance that has none of those things.

  • Romance only exists in fairy tales written by rabbits. :yesr:

I do like romantic stuff though...

Even though I sometimes feel like I will never get to experience being in a romantic relationship.

I'm more into holding hands, hugging and kissing, but nothing more than that.

romance is found in various ways. I'm sure one day you will experience. and if not

    get a dog.

    LOL j/k

but the line i posted well either it was that line or similar is from the movie the last unicorn :p

  • I'm a cat person, so I would rather have a cat LOL

okay but get one that likes snuggles and attention 'cause mine are bitches :p

I personally (to get back on topic) never found interest in romance novels. I prefer the house of night series though even though there's romance and vampires in it. If you haven't already and I think i mentioned it before, you should read the books at least the first one and see if you like it. It was the the first time i ever picked up a book and had a hard time putting it down, imo it was that good!

  • tbh 90% YA books are shit and are not needed in this world. If I want something fluffy and romantic, I would choose asian dramas over western/ english books because for me they do justice to romance as compared to western media where romance is all about sex

  • I don't usually read romance novels, most of them are cheesy and poorly written. And if they have sex scenes, they are cringy as hell :pepe-peek:

No...but read the Cruel Prince series. It's literally so good. The romance is sort of like a side thing but at the same time, it's very important. The highlight is the main character (Jude) slowly dominating a mystical world where the highest beings are faeries as a human :eyes:

The romance is there but Jude's character arc and badassness make it an amazing read. She is definitely not that innocent female character that happens to fall into a man's arms like a damsel in distress. That's all I can say for now ;-)

It's also very "enemies to lovers" if you like that sort of thing.

  • Not at me accidently unwatching this thread...

    I enjoy watching kdrama.

And I feel like most kdramas are innocent in comparison to some books with romance that I have read.

I don't think I mind it if it is cheesy. (even though I cringe when I watch Hallmark romance movies, even though they are kind of innocent.)

I am currently reading a book, that is a historical novel, and there was some steamy stuff going on in a flashback and I laughed at the part where it says something like "his tongue went into her mouth like a wild snake"

But I was feeling a bit uncomfortable.

I maybe should check that out.

  • HwaGoose I found this really well-made fanmade movie trailer for The Cruel Prince...

It's really well made. The cast is perfect, especially the main characters and it's crazy to me how they did voice acting (idk if it was done by someone else or the user) and made it look like they were actually saying it.

Because literally, I can already tell that there is a mixture of lines from the book and things that were actually said in these shows/movies.

Literally, my only complaint is that the bgm is really loud and sort of drowns out everything. But this is a masterpiece, other than that.
