Did you know It's a JYPE's policy to never revel the reason why one of their artists was fired?

  • but fans will keep on making weird theories and if group becomes popular after member left, new fans will somehow start believing that member was in fault and there character would get slandered anyways. I think it is better to reveal the reason because silence doesn't help both the artist and company.

  • I don't think it's a bad approach. If the idol really wants to reveal it, they can make that choice for themselves. But in this way, it lets both parties kind of "save face" by not having the company immediately talking about the idol. Even if it's true! Remember when MBK tried to defend T-ara from Hwayoung, and all it did was make fans attack T-ara and side with Hwayoung? It's tricky to get a message to be understood correctly and the way you intended by such a broad audience*, so easier to sidestep the issue altogether.

*For another example, when Woojin was falsely accused of sexual misconduct, and he posted a message denying the accusations, that just made people sure he did it. I remember him commenting later that he thought all he had to do was tell the truth and it was personally painful suffering through the reality that the truth doesn't matter so much as managing people's perception.

  • Sorry i don't believe this shit

    1. Because transparency is better imo, no giving any explanation leave more place to rumor and rumor can kill someone reputation.

Because for the moment because JYP didn't give any explanation Jinni is the one being throw under the bus because people are spreading that she was fire because she was dating and going in hotel with her Bf

And because she doesn't have a big agency to clarify her name, if she do a statement it will not have enough exposure to clean her image

    2. Let's stop being naive please

If they do this it's not because they want to give their artist a chance outside of JYP

i mean look at Jay park situation, he was fire without any explanation and if we listen to JYP it is to give him a chance outside of JYP but Jay park himself confirm that JYP was blocking him to promote properly after he left so you can't say i want to give them a chance and then block them

And tbh is it really for their artist ? Or just to protect JYP image because let's be honest behind this lame excuse is egoistic i bet using this excuse, makes that even if JYP is the one who fucked up by firing someone for a dumb reason like dating for example, he wouldn't have to give any explanation

And wouldn't have to face the heat that would come from Fans for firing someone for a stupid shit

    3. By doing shady tactics like deleting every post of ex artist who left on bad terms he isn't protecting their image either

Because it give the impression that they were the one who did a mistake and no other company would like to hire someone who they think fucked up in their previous company in comparison to someone who was never in front of the public eyes and have a clean image without rumor or bad buzz

And by doing this they lose all the support from their old fans because some of them will see them as traitor who left the group without explanations or did a mistake who hurt the group

Edited once, last by SooYoung ().

  • In most cases transparency is best, though it does need to be done tactfully.

If a member leaves the group with zero explanation, the old fans will be left wondering about it and may never truly get over it, meanwhile new fans will feel weird about it too because there's this big scar in the fandom that never got to heal.

  • I agree this policy is failed. Not only for what you meant, but even If an artist did something bad and broke the company rules, there are degrees of how bad It is. Some, for me, deserve another chance and continue to be supported and some deserve to face more serious consequences. Following this route It seems all their artists commited mistakes on the same level.

Reveling the reason why someone left gives a chance to the public to choose If what they did was enough to continue to give support or not. But as you said, they aren't worried about the artists' public or the artists themselves, but the agency's reputation.
