I am shocked! #jinhate #jinbashing

  • Fans and netizens think #Jin looks "so hot" with a buzz cut despite feeling sad about him leaving
Idols that have to enlist in the military usually don't post themselves with a buzz cut. However, Jin changed the game and uploaded a picture of him…

I am shocked and disturbed about the shallowness of some (and how many at that!) people!

While I am accustomed to users hating on different articles on the main page, I am shocked about the reason that so many are bashing on Jin right now: for his shaved head...

I understand people get tired of different fandoms lifting their favourite idols up so I wasn't that much surprised about the downvotes (153 up and 123 downvotes on this particular article) and I did read a few exaggerated sentences like always, but this time around people downvoted for the need to tell others that Jin is "soooooo ugly and unattractive" (not an exact comment, just the gist of it) and "how can other people be so delusional to call Jin handsome".

I agree that beauty is subjective and fandoms can be overzealous, but I am disgusted about all these people just coming to post only because they want to can call someone ugly (for an obligatory hair cut, no less) and no other, sane reason. Just to hate (for what, I don't know). When even famous and obviously handsome people get treated like this I do get affraid of all the people always needing to share their opinion on beauty only because they have the need to tear others down.

I always have this question. Why do people have the need to shout at other people that "I think you are ugly lol?" At any kpop idol, human or user? </3 I don't get it. :-(

  • I don't get it.

    because it's the internet

Jin isn't the first and he certainly won't be the last

as long as the internet has existed - people and their comments suddenly became anonymous and thus they free like they can shit on whomever and whatever they want without consequence

those people certainly wouldn't say that to another person's face let alone a kpop idol or other celebrity

remember always though that when it comes to the internet - the silent majority is often drowned out by the vocal minority

  • I always says to KPOP fans, don't engage with the toxic-ness, it's not good for anyone or anything. Save that energy for something else useful or enjoying someting. Don't let their hate infuence your well being or enjoyment too.

I do try mostly, but sometimes I have the need to at least say that "this is not right". I won't go into comment wars, I will listen to you about that. Thank you anyway! I will go about my day and enjoy it now that this is out of me.

  • I still don't know how can some just switch of their consciousness. But yeah, you are right. I want to stay silent and I am most of the times, then I remember how many suicides we had... And I want to try at least a little. Anyway, fools game for sure.

  • why you would read allkpop comments.

That site is full of toxic mfs who hate on every existing living being. Don't get disturb by it. There are loads of people who love him. My suggestion to you is that don't go on this site ever again.

I hardly get updates about the kpop scene that's why I go there. I don't do twitter or other sites, where do you get updates then?

because those people are inherently "dodgy" (can't think of a word off the top of my head lol)

and so many people who are the majority of whatever fandom not just armys enjoy their fav group/idol/[insert literally any other hobby] in peace and quite - they might stream their songs, buy albums, see a concert if they can, vote during award shows and whatnot but they don't need to go out constantly shouting OMG I love [xyz[ group/idol

the other vocal people need to proudly and shamelessly go on social media to spout all sorts of nonsense whether in this case it's a hair cut or some other BS because they just want to get a rise out of other people

and guess what like most things the negativity will draw much more attention than a "good" fan who says " wow I really like Jin's haircut"

  • rather than the internet comments, I would worry about the people inside the enlistment itself...

People are people I guess, on and offline... Now you made me remember how many idols got depressed for some or other reason in the military. Is there an exact reason? I don't hear a lot about what goes on the inside, but it seems like idols do have hardships when they serve. I just don't know if it is a personal cause or bullying so I did not comment on that. But you made me curious? Mind sharing?

  • I don't agree on that note. I do see a lot of great posts and energy from fandoms. So the positivity is definetly just as loud as the negativity, even when some people do not want to aknowledge it. :)

Living in a new place surely could make you stressed out, likely if you can't adapting fast enough. I once had watch a video of someone who just finished their enlistment. He is a Korean-Canadian who are kinda love to eat a variety of delicious food. But there you only got the same meal each time. So it kinda stressed him out a bit.

Well, it may sounds silly but like I said, sometimes we do feel stressed out when we are still adapting from our daily habit to a new one.

And now not to mention that there are a mixed of good people and toxic people at everywhere, and even the existence of 1 toxic people could really affect your day. It could be the same men who enlisted with you who are jealous of "idol's easy life". Or simply jealous of your visual. Or it could be your higher ups that are....

So there would be a chance of bullying, but idk much about this one. Usually it just that "adapting" problem.

Anw, maybe if you are really liked, it won't be that bad, because seems like there are many people who liked Day6 Wonpil and singing along with him.

And yeah since you are a well known idol, people might always ask you to sing or dance the moment they meet you? ^^

but the positivity doesn't gain as much traction or attention than the negative stuff - would you agree on that?

like drama and negativity causes from reactions

  • I know which type of fans are bombarding hate comments on Jin pics both on akp and outside. It seems as if they think they are the idols they put on their pfps, and look down on others. The likes and comments are very disgusting. It’s also funny the lengths they go to prove he is ugly and mid to others who think he looks handsome. Beauty is subjective ofc but these folks insulting his looks need an eye check

If we are thinking about what kind of news and threads do get more traffic, then negativity is in the lead definetly. But I was away from AKP for a long time and I remember positivity threads more or less dying (except for example: the BTS records thread). Baiting threads were much more common and visited by many.

Now I see a lot of positivity threads, many of them succeeding. A few baiting thread here or there, but must drying up quickly. Some threads about this or that record get many many views and comments, so I would say even AKP changed in a way. So I can't agree 100%. But when I think about bullying news and etc., it's still the worst. People judge and take sides without any kind of proof (or openness, on the other side) and then we all have surprised pikachu-faces when the idol was innocent but their career is already ruined.

I guess I should make a more detailed argument, but now I don't have the right time and this is my impression overall.

I think it's because here on AKP we are a lot more tight nit community??? if that's the right way to put it? the really bad trolls are gone so we're left with more moderate ones???

sure there's always a drama thread every now and then and when they do pop up they do seem to get more traction

I'll also add that for the most part the mods do a good job of enforcing the rules

in regards to the bolded part - I normally sit on the fence but everyone has their own opinion (rightfully or wrongly) they can choose to make their own judgments on things just as I make mine - we can call them out on it or whatever but very rarely does one change their opinions as a result of others
