Christmas decoration in Germany is on a whole other level

I mean Germans made Christmas as we know it

I was born in Cologne and grew up in close proximity. When we were young, my family was pretty poor, but for a few years, we would all take the money we were gifted on Christmas and go to Cologne to spend it. We never had a lot of decorations and no tree, so I was always in love with all the lights in the city. We even had the fairytale snowy year, where the lights tainted the snow on the ground and everything looked like a movie. It was great!

Germany in Christmas is so beautiful! I love all the decorations, the lights... The people decorate their houses very beautifully as well, the shops too.

This year I still haven't been to a Christmas market, I hope by next week I can have some spare time.

Germans be like. We have to save energy because of the russian ukrainian war.

I hope you get a chance one day. In my childhood, I lived in Germany for three years in Bavaria, and absolutely Christmast market/festivities were the BEST... I even drank gluhwein as a kid (blame it on my German uncles -- bad influences but I love them all - they taught me how to make it); to this day, I still make it for Christmas every year. The only problem I have now is that I can't track down any good Christmas lebkuchen!!! I love the ones covered in dark chocolate.

I also spent one Christmas in Vienna and Prague and it was also wonderful too.
