Why do most new users never talk?

There was something similar on another site I was on, in the Newcomer section they started a thread to tag new users and tell them to introduce themselves and why they joined, few people responded though

maybe it's like 1 in a thousand (kinda like an ad) you tag all the new users and maybe a few will end up posting and even fewer become permanent memebers

Hm another thing could be lack of interaction?? Pretty sure that's the word I'm going for....

For instance, I think what got me out of my shell was right after I joined a lot of people commented on myy board and interacted w/ me.

@Sweet-Spice helped me get added to the skz taglist ... YouChanDoThis would talk to me n showed me the skz guild and bunnyviolet would rant abt kard with me lol itsymoo also was one of the first people i talked to..... I was like wow so many hidden! I never responded to smth u posted I beliveee ..... I'm sryyy tht was prolly when I went on mini-hiatus then came back n forgot-- I'll go comment on ur board rn fr I was excited for another bm stan tho

there was a lot of others as well~ everybody was cool~

There is not really 44 guests, if you load into many threads and go to page 2, you will see 10 to 40 guests
"now viewing the page", but these are not counted into the total views and arnt peopel

I've decided I find it more interesting the people who have had accounts for 6+ months (or in some cases, years) but no posts. You clearly find this place interesting! Say hi! The forums are way more fun when you have friends.

And to anyone who might be lurking: if you're ever scared that you'll get ignored or blown off, feel free to tag me. I'll come respond or invite others into the conversation.
