no one seems happy during awards shows period :eyes:

In the grand scheme of things they dont matter, look at all the idols when they get their first award versus when they get their 20th, they stop caring about them little by little.

But for younger groups, especially rookies, they're very important. Wonyoung rarely cries, like it's really rare, and she was the first one to cry at MAMA. They grind themselves into dust to earn them, the work hours and schedules of almost every idol group are insane.

So if idols care that much, most of their fans will care too since they care about their artists' wellbeing.

    this makes so much sense.

blinks don't seem to care about korean awards because Blackpink don't even attend them. But they cared about VMAs because BP did.

  • I honestly think most of it's hilarious. People screaming about rigged awards and then hyping up their faves for the exact same awards.

Meanwhile I'm here for snarky comments and performances... and akorns. :spammerpepe:

  • This is kpop life. People will run around shouting out this award or that award doesn't matter and is just an attendance award UNTIL their group wins one, then it is proof of their greatness OR someone they don't think should win one gets one. (If it doesn't matter, why is your butter so melted about it?) All of these awards shows are some shade of sketchy, like awards shows worldwide that have their own different biases and faves.

Just soak in the great performances and the sweet emotional moments and enjoy the ride.

It was so wonderful and special for me as a NCTzen when NCT 127 won their first daesang. They were genuinely shocked and emotional and shocked and weepy because no one thought they were a contender (although it was certainly mathmetically possible) and those guys still don't think they're successful because people told them for so many years they were not (and still do). For us NCTzens, it was a wonderful and beautiful moment and we were so very happy and emotional for these guys who work so hard and are so talented. Everyone started screaming immediately how it was bought by the company and not deserved and blah blah, but at the end of the day, the guys were happy and we were happy with them and everything else is noise.

You gotta find your happiness and enjoy it. Enjoy the music, enjoy the performances. Enjoy someone being really excited about winning something special to them. Someone will always be bitching.
