groups will probs do youtube live but the fact they are closing this down to force people to use weverse where not alot of groups are..

All YG artists have already migrated over to Weverse. It was a part of the deal when YGPlus took over the music and merch distribution for Hybe.

And not everyone has switched over. No JYP or SM artist opened a WeVerse channel. Nor has IU or MAMAMOO.

Anyone that's been paying attention to the business side of Kpop know that there are strategic alliances happening.

YG/Hybe/Naver on one side and SM/JYP/Kakao on the other.

YG/Hybe (among others) use Weverse.

SM/JYP (among others) use Bubble.

YG/Hybe use Venew Live for online concerts (they both actually own stakes in it)

SM/JYP use Beyond Live

YG and Naver are actually building the largest SFX/VFX studio in Korea where online concerts, movies and TV shows will be filmed.

Weverse invested in YGPlus and YGPlus took over digital/physical distribution of music for Hybe as well as merch.

There's a lot of other stuff too. YG and Naver's relationship runs deep and they have several partnerships and companies.

Naver and Kakao are the two behemoths behind the scenes, to them K-pop is just one more field of competition, as they try to control most of the digital space in S.korea and beyond

I thought HYBE will become the 3rd expanding from Kpop origins, but seems that's not happening.
