What is the main reason of a fandom to buy albums?

I buy it for the music, there's something about listening to music on cds.

cause artists need to get paid wtf

I only have 2 kpop albums, both are BTS
I do buy album to collect and also as a gift for myself.

I don't collect photocards, I left those in albums

I was a fans of BSB, My Chemical Romance, L'arc en ciel etc,

I still buy their album, even only jewel case and got no photocard

as for me, photocards don't really matter,
I need something that can reminds myself in the future that I loved and appreciate their music.

I dont open my albums so I buy just to have it and support my faves

I buy them for photocards and also I need the cd plus to support my favs

Fandom culture's mindset that you need to support your faves and the sense of competition that they need to break previous records and, maybe, even other group's ones.

I really don't understand any reason besides supporting their faves. Everything in the album is pretty much useless tho.

Typically artists make more off albums sales than streaming. I never bought an album before BTS. I did it to support them then started collecting them. I also started using the CD player in my car that I never used before.

i get a lot of my idols in terms of good music and I actually want to pay them for that service

other than buying to support my favs obviously, and the insane addiction to photocards, i also use the photobooks as art reference bc some these photography, concepts, etc is STUNNING

I don't have an opinion, I think people buy albums for whatever reason they want.

But yes, I think If people have the money to bulkbuy for the sake of support, they will bulkbuy If there's 1 or 10 versions. I don't think multiple versions are directly to this people, but for collectors of albums, photocards and giving more options to motivate a regular fan who only can affort one or a few to buy a version they like the most
