but Twice is more popular than Kara when they were at their peak in Japan.
That's debatable.

New here, why is this dude always making threads? Is it to farm these akorns I keep seeing? Are they some sort of crypto?
He just likes making threads.
As for akorns, they're just a currency for the forum. You get them by making posts and threads, or through various contests sometimes. You can use them to buy badges or other things for your profile aesthetic.
Also, being new, you get your first badge for free! Just head over to the below thread and fill out which one you want:

Yes. Alt accounts are against the rules.
I never follow charts and shows. I don't care much who wins what, if it's not a somekind special meaning. Like a group getting their first nr1 or doing great after hard period I can feel a bit happines for a favorite.
It's pretty natural that establised group like Twice, BP and Girls' Generation for example have songs that don't reach the top on their charts or quickly fade away, because the songs is nothing really special and it's "just an other decent song" from them. It can be "okay" and the group have a big enough fan base to being close to the top, but maybe not enough to be a hit outside their fanbase.
New and lesser establish groups will always have a chance to get a nr1 if they have a good song or in some otherway draw attention to themself, because they are a fresh face compared to the older established group.
I don't know much about IVE, I have just seen their name popping up in the forum now and then, heard their three singles (I think). Nothing special, pretty meh songs, but the style and concepts is kind of intresting at least. I guess they get attention mostly because they are from Starship Ent.? They need to come up with a lot of better songs if they want to establish themself as a top group for a longer time.
