It's still weird to me that companies are responsible for giving them the numbers, and that companies don't necessarily give numbers from the same entities. That doesn't seem quite right...

BH sent hanteo data cause IFPI no longer has a contract with GAON (they did in 2018)

Hence why Persona ended with 2.5M (their Hanteo sales number exactly) on the album chart

It's weird indeed and I think ifpi is responsible for checking if numbers provided by companies are legit as well. Like what happens if some people lie about it hello?

But isn't it more accurate to report Hanteo's figures, as Gaon technically counts the albums that are still on the shelves and storages?
