The majority of this community is going to hate Pink Venom regardless of what it sounds like

    Just the title really, but it’s been so long since the last BLACKPINK comeback I feel like I need to warn and set the context for newer Kpop fans. This community is predictable af.

    There are a few points to this:

    1. This community has no chill when it comes to the mega groups, and I think BLACKPINK especially has to deal with a lot of sexism and misogyny on top of the typical challenges kpop groups face.
    2. What the GP wants and what ifans want are two entirely different things. How You Like That was dragged through the mud on this sub for being too “TEDDY” sounding (ie, EDM), but it was a massive hit.
    3. Even when a BP song does everything the kpop community wants (ie sung chorus, more “pink” pop vibe, ie Lovesick Girls), they ignore it and pretend it doesn’t exist or flopped
    4. A lot of people hate BLACKPINK simply for being as popular and “privileged” as they are.

    So yeah, if you’re a Blackpink fan or just casually interested in this upcoming comeback, I’m just warning you. There WILL be a windstorm of negativity about it regardless, and you shouldn’t let it bother you.

    If you’re into it just enjoy it for what it is, and don’t get too upset by the people complaining. It is their right after all to voice their opinions.

    I definitely think that's true. A lot of people pre-judge music solely based on the artist and hate it without ever hearing it.

    I would love it. I want another "DDU-DU DDU-DU." If something is that good, I want more of it. Can't get tired of it!


    As K-pop fans, we're a bit spoiled in the sense that we're fed so much maximalism, so we get tired of things easily. But fans of other genres will definitely want more of the same sound if it's what they've fallen in love with.

    You say that but at least here, the past 3 comebacks the civil Blink war brought way more negativity than other fans talking about it.


    Personally I liked RFL, despite it being a typical Teddy song. I expect another Teddy song so I don't be surprised if people talk about it and they don't like it.

    I don't think I know anyone who legit hates the group for anything, just the fans over hyping a group alot of the time, it is a pendulum, blinks hype bp / people say something to bring them down ) be it constructive or spiteful) / blinks retaliate - cycle continues.

    Now replace blinks with any other fandom and there we go. The bigger the fandom the bigger the push back.
