Nothing against the song itself, it's the song that got me into Kpop. But that's the problem, it wasn't just me, it brought in way too many people. And unlike me, many of them haven't moved away from that sound. For many that became the image of Kpop, something they now expected from all the Kpop acts.
And now 10 years later, we live in a dystopia where bg and even some gg songs are just mutant offsprings of that song. And I can't blame them, it sells. Like a bg comes out, does cute concept for 3 comebacks - flops - releases a hard try song with a beat drop and the twitter and youtube are screaming "Omg talent"
Remember how we used to have Beast, Shinee, Infinite, 2PM, SuJu all doing different things and having distinct sound? Great times.
