[DIDN'T PASS] Testing for my driver's license today!

After so long, so many times of failing my permit test and needing to wait the full 6 months to take the road test, I'm finally here! I can't wait for it, I'm feeling confident though I'm nervous at the same time. Wish me luck! I'm sure it shouldn't be too hard. I think the thing that would get me the most is the parallel parking and the anxiety.

I was really anxious before and during the permit test and I think that was the main thing that kept setting me back. And I was studying as much as I should've.

UPDATE: Unfortunately, I didn't pass...I was too nervous and wasn't super confident in everything I needed to do lol. I know what I did wrong though and the earliest I can retake it is September 6. Wish me luck in my practice! I wish to get it next time

I didn't tag anyone at the beginning except for kitty because she's been asking me how my permit is and how my driving's going since the beginning.

Yep! And I'm so glad she wrote down what I need to work on for me to reflect on. My mom who failed her road test the first time told me that after she took the test, all they told her was that she failed but never specified what she needed to work on. And she actually gave me a few moments of grace. I was supposed to turn left but I went right, unfortunately, and she told my mom that she thought it was alright, it was just that the test would be slightly longer. This was amazing because some testers will fail you if you don't do everything they say as efficiently and as safely as possible.

Unfortunately, I made 2 serious mistakes (categorized as mistakes that would've caused a crash if someone was there) that if I didn't do, I have a strong feeling I would've been walking out of there with my temporary driver's license.

So all I can do is take that information, learn from it and improve on it. As long as my parents are available, I'm going to get as much practice as I possibly can and won't test again until I'm fully ready, no matter how eager I am to get my license.

Yep! In the United States, you need to pass your driver's permit (the biggest restriction is probably that you can't drive by yourself, you have to be accompanied by an adult with a valid driver's license that is over the age of 21 at all times) test which you can do at the minimum age of 14 (in my state, in other states it might be 15). If you get it, you are able to take your driver's license test (the road test) by the time of your 16th birthday and after 6 months of having your driver's permit which is still restricted but you no longer have to have a 21-year-old licensed adult with you in the front seat when you drive. By your 18th birthday, you can get an updated license with even less restrictions than your Intermediate license.

If you let your permit expire, you have to do all stages of testing (the written/digital questions test AND the road test)
