I feel kinda bad for Garam (beating a dead horse yes I know)

  • I'll start by saying that I 99.9% believe that she is guilty. I am also someone who was bullied from grades 1 to 12. Physical bullying, emotional bullying, ostracization, etc. The only bullying I didn't get is cyberbullying cuz I had no social media. If my bully came to me, saying they've changed and are sorry I probably wouldn't forgive but I would be glad they're a better person now. Now onto Garam

How the fuck did Hybe not do their research? Either they did no background check or knew and went on with it. Either way, it sucks for Garam. This was her dream and she must have worked so hard for it. There is so much investment that goes into debuting a group like Serafim I find it insane they would debut someone without research, I'm sure they would have found out right away if they just looked. The school record was revealed in like 1 week.

Then how they handled the rumors. They started by denying everything and suing the victims, then they had their employees pretend to be Garams classmates and defend her. Once the school record came out Hybe (and by extension Garam) lost all credibility. Garam herself wasn't allowed to address it, they just ignored the question in the showcase. Even if Garam was sorry and had changed I doubt Hybe would have let her speak to the public.

No matter how you spin it, whether they knew or not Hybe failed her.

Now after all of this Hybe is just fine yet Garam is ruined. I am not sure if the bullying report is true but I wouldn't be surprised. The way people acted about her was disgusting. Like the memes abt her only being an idol for 1 month are whatever, they're just funny jokes.

But calling a minor a sex fanatic, saying she is Lee Soo-man girlfriend essentially accusing her of exchanging sex favors, the sexual harassment. She is fucking 16 years old. 16!!!! She is a child and her life is ruined. And no I am not exaggerating, Garam like most trainees most likely spent years training, and now she has nothing. Not to mention the entire country knows about her. Korea is an extremely judgemental country, it's also very hard to get a job, and even the kids who to elite universities have a hard time. Every time Garam will apply for a job they will google her name, the same thing for the university.

I feel so bad for her. I am not a perfect person myself. When I was 16 I had anger management issues, mostly because of my dad. I grew up with screaming all the time so I didn't know how to process things otherwise. I am now 24 and I have changed so much, hardly the same person. Garam will not get that chance. In the court of public opinion, she is a monster (the public opinion never forgets). I hope she gets through it. She's only 16 and has so much growing to do.

  • I am one of the persons here that always thought Garam was guilty and never took her side, but i do feel bad for her, i do think Hybe failed her and you are right that Hybe is perfectly fine now and Garam is not, i hope she is able to apologize for what she did, get forgiveness and she is able to get a good job and have a nice life or re debut if she is forgiven, would be awesome if she was able to redebut after showing she is a better person now and apologizing and see her become an idol without anything holding her back, it's very unlikely though

  • People on the internet are proud to be cyberbullying a 16 y/o girl. They are doing the very thing they are accusing her of, and then they pretend to be anti bullying. We don't even know if Garam is a genuine bully or not, and there's more proof of HER being bullied than of her bullying so far too. It's crazy X/

that's what happens when public becomes the judge and twitter users becomes justice lawyers who tries to become white knights.they fails to realize that they cannot give judgment to someone at all costs. It's up to law not them.

  • well there's an actual court and the court of public opinions

and very rarely have we seen any (to my knowledge none) cases where a bullying accusation has made it all the way to a court of law...

which means the only court that matters is the court of public opinion...

like it don't like it - that's the way the cookie crumbles...

  • it's very unlikely though

The internet never forgets. All people want is a whitch hint. Take Lia for example, wasnt she proven innocent? Yet people still call her a bully. Take Jessica, it's been how many years since she left GG? yet people still bring it up in every article about her. Doesn't apply to boys though, male celebrities have straight up done crimes and they're still accepted.

Part of internet culture I'm afraid. the internet loves to judge others, cuz it makes them feel superior.

I wonder why the mostly female fans are more forgiving towards boys. Like the worst enemy of a women are other women.

  • I hope this force drive her to do stupid things like former idols/trainees have done, that she has a great support system and that she will use social media/yt and rebuild a brand.

  • She is only 16. Her live is not over. If she come back in 4 years after finding he true self she is only 20. Still 5 years younger than where my faves debute. She can still join the group or the next 5th Gen group then.

4 years in rl is Like 20 years in Kpop.

Yes hybe is the biggest villain. But they are a massive Red flag when it comes to girl groups anyway. Some people stan like they really ask for drama.

So to feel superior they put others down. Such a big complex. It even makes them become fools and do things blindly. No wonder people don't listen to other's opinions on something. because they can't let go of opinions which they think are of higher quality😓

I actually said Hybe would keep Garam and didn't take a side, since I don't really take any sides if it is not about the Senior Singer.

However, given the tragedies of 2019 , all these bullying does hurt idol's feeling, and the Senior Singer had sung BbiBbi to warn against such behavior.

Still it seems Garam has not given up her dreams, which is why I say she will probably return in 2 years.
