Hobipalooza 2022 Review

  • Feel free to post your thoughts/review of Hobipalooza 2022 in this thread.

    My thoughts:

(Prepare yourselves, the word 'fantastic' is used repeatedly).

It was absolutely fantastic. I loved his intro with the big jump onto the stage and out of the box. He has such incredible stage presence and energy, and it did not waver at all throughout the whole set - it really impressed me (no wonder he said he was exhausted!). His vocals, rapping, and dancing were all on point, and I LOVED that it was live... and you knew what was a support backing track. The live band was fantastic. The arrangements of the songs live was fantastic. I genuinely loved hearing every song live - even if it (a particular song) wasn't a favourite having previously listened to it - but live? - I loved it all! Excellent song selections and flow when it came to the set list. Becky G and J-Hope together live? - you guessed it! - it was fantastic! I loved their energy together; they really complemented each other and played off of each other's energy. The choreography and dancers were fantastic. The whole set design was great, including lighting and pyrotechnics. Genuinely, his show impressed me so much. I knew it would be great - but it even blew those expectations that I had out of the water! I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it and the time flew by so quickly.

Hobi should be very proud because it was amazing and I thoroughly enjoyed watching it. Jung Ho-seok, you are a truly talented performer! Again, I hope he's proud of himself and happy because he should be.

    Random side notes:
I loved that they showed aerial shots of the crowd, and especially of downtown Chicago, as a whole; I really enjoyed it because I thought it allowed me as a viewer to get a better understanding of the whole atmosphere (since I sadly wasn't there in person).

I laughed when they showed the 2 girls that brought the 'Yoongi Marry Me' sign. That's another one of those BTS-ARMY inside jokes, so I loved that they managed to broadcast that - and - I loved it even more after finding out that Yoongi watched the live stream on Weverse.

I loved seeing Hobi's genuinely shocked face when the crowd was singing back to him - that was a sweet and endearing moment.

It's wonderful that Jimin was there supporting Hobi in person. <3

The ONLY downside was that the Weverse stream started crashing often about halfway through. However, close to 15 million people watched it and I got to watch it for free, so I was okay with that. I refreshed my page and moved my cursor back to the parts I missed, so I ended up watching it with a slight delay. Nonetheless, I appreciate the fact that I was able to watch it for free, so thank you to Weverse for that.

  • What I love most about Hobi is his ability to emote his feelings in his songs and raps. And having the privilege to watch it live for an hour 10 mins.. is fantastic (I just have to borrow you fav word lol). I caught myself holding my breath few times when Hobi was performing. He was that immersive.

I was amazed for Hobi’s bravery to do a solo performance (and headliner!) in an American music festival. And I’m proud that he did it so well. This performance is already in the history books!

I need to rewatch the whole thing again because Weverse kept glitching (in the middle of the performance, but as time goes by it became more stable) and i wasted minutes trying to get in again or find other links. So that kinda spoilt the mood a bit.

    I completely agree with this!
My jaw dropped out of sheer unexpected delight three times - during the entrance onto the stage, as well as during Baseline and Arson. By the time we got to the end with CNS and Future, I kept thinking that it was simply too good!

I was thoroughly impressed by how cohesive the whole set was - the flow of the set list worked so well.

  • I'm speechless and he definitely exceeded my expectations. He's really a monster on stage and can hold a stage & crowd on his own. You can see him being exhausted asf in the second half of his performance, but still great considering it's his first time performing alone without members beside him to share the energy. After this, he will grow more as a solo performer. And I can't wait for that!

Now, where is the solo tour??? 🤔🤔🤔

Honestly. People forget this is Hobi's first time performing as a solo artist without the other boys at ALL (yes he's done his solo stages during BTS concerts) but this was his first time where it was purely just him with his solo discography. The energy he provided, the power, the confidence.... JUST WOW.

The way he performed... you would never never know it.
I'm so so proud of him as well.

I just wish i could express how proud I feel of him.

  • As my bias wrecker seeing Hobi performed like that made me so proud. If only I could hug him and tell him how great he is.

His happy and satisfied face got me little bit emotional.

    Well done Hobi! :sadr:

the video of him being shocked of people screaming back "WILD AND FREE" to him will be stapled in my mind for ages..... the pure relief, pride you could see from hi than and throughout the set... made me so proud and emotional

I had like goosebumps at every other song, it was so magnificent. I need to re-watch it all over again to be able to do it justice in the form of a review.

  • Would like to add some reviews from non-fans who went there....

  • Seeing and reading all these reviews from non-ARMY fans is heartwarming. It just goes to show you that people should be more open-minded about music and they should try out all different kinds of genres and languages. If the music is good and you can feel the artist's passion for it, then you'll connect with it and understand it, no matter what.
