Can you really stan a group that just came out?

Not for me, a group has to build up a bit of a discography first.

Actually you know what maybe not. MAMA EP wouldn’t have really made me stan. Like yea the vocals were good but musically it was still reminiscent of the older 2nd gen sound which is actually not a fav of mine.

Would have taken XOXO for me to Stan.

probably not...since I'm still deciding on whether to add lightsum or ive to my favs - ive is leading and I will be making tht decision when they have their next cb

I can see it with some of the groups where people pre debuted. Like if someone was a fan of SM Rookies and then stanned NCT since it was mostly the same people that they had seen in content and performances, or even groups from survival shows, but overall, no.

Well stanning for me is not as "stringent" as other people.

Stanning for me is a group I follow and support. Support does not necessarily mean spending money for me. I can support just by promoting the group. Like I promoted NMIXX, ITZY, and iKON when they 1st came out.

But it takes at least a couple of comebacks before I start spending money on groups. Like, I didn't start considering buying ITZY's albums until Mafia In The Morning. For NMIXX, I think I'll need at least two more good comebacks before I open my purse.
