I would just tell them that I really enjoy their music and performances and I hope they continue to do what they do and know we're out there cheering for them. Depending on who it is, I might give extra props to how much I love their vocals. Then I'd ask them what they want to talk about or wish someone would ask or if they just want to take a few minutes to not have to answer stupid shit and get a breather for a few mins and have a companionable silence, that's okay too. "Being on" all the time is draining, even if you are not an idol.
Ideally, I'd love to hear them talk about their craft (whether it's how they get inspired in songwriting or what they find their biggest challenge in creating music) because I find it really interesting what musicians and any artist talks about their art but that's not conceivable in just a few minutes fancall.
