I think people genuinely underestimate the other IVE girls that aren't Wonyoung and Yujin.

Some people seem to ignore that in just 6 months since debut Leeseo already went viral from beginning and Rei have started the gyaru pose trend among kpop idols.

And Rei and Leeseo aren't even the 3rd most popular IVE member. Liz is. She have trended in kforums for a couple of times and have the 3rd biggest cbar and 3rd biggest fansite out of IVE members. And though Gaeul is quite underrated, I noticed that she tend to have the most die-hard, loyal stans.

Any idol that went viral or started a trend would be considered at least decently well known. But because Wonyoung is an it girl, its apparently impossible for antis to have more than one popular member in a group that isnt from big4.

They are already leaving their prints in kpop without being overshadowed by their veteran fellow members. Remember that unlike Wony and Yujin the other 4 are still rookies and are doing amazing and have shown huge potential in just a couple months since they've been active.

Ironically, IVE is one of the few ggs that have 3 different members that managed to go viral, start a trend and be an it girl. So it blows my mind the lack of self awareness when fans from other 4th gen groups dare to talk about IVE's popularity.

Just think about how well your own 4th gen faves are doing in comparison before trying to downplay IVE members and stfu maybe.

Wonyoung and Yujin have a 4 year advantage not even in IVE but in 4th gen overall. But even them profited from IVE's popularity. Wonyoung doubled her ig followers since IVE's debut.

The point is that Rei, Leeseo, Liz and Gaeul are far ahead than other 2021-2022 rookies in popularity besides maybe only Xiaoting, Sullyoon, Tsuki and Kazuha and that's what people seem to fail to understand.

Plenty of idols have trended here and there online but what determines "success" or "popularity" or how well known they are in general is what projects they have, what shows/programs they guest on/ host, or whether they are referenced on variety shows.

Do the girls other than Wonyoung and Yujin regularly guest on variety programs as solo guests? So far it's been all about the two Iz*One girls as they went on Knowing Bros, the Manager show, Radio Star etc. Have they been offered any hosting roles on music shows, radio shows or variety shows? They hardly have any real presence and IVE is still primarily known as under the Iz*One umbrella with Wonyoung and Yujin. Until they make their presence felt and grow their own solo fanbase, it's all about Wonyoung and Yujin

People are compare Wonyoung and Yujin who have been an idol for 2.5 years as a Produce group to other members who just started with IVE. W and Y obviously will be more popular than the other because they have the head start.

However, being more popular doesn't mean it becomes Wonyoung + Yujin and friends. The other is getting attention, obviously they are not at the same level as Wonyoung and Yujin yet, but it is definitely not Wonyoung and friends.

For IVE to become Wonyoung and friends it mean that people have no interest on other members which is not true already.

it's not that they underestimate them, they are literally putting on blinders not to see. It's be obvious from the start that all of the IVE members stand out from one another in their own ways and calls for attention. But that would go against their narrative.

Exactly. All 6 IVE members were hyped and already had stans creating fan accounts for them before they even debuted. Each of them had around 100k likes for their teaser pics and was talked about from beginning. It wasn't just Wonyoung and Yujin that generated hype, but also that the other members were highly appreciated for their visuals and IVE was considered a gg full of tall models.

The other members are doing fairly great imo! It’s of course unfair to compare them to Annyeongz because these two arenalready established idols. The others will surely catch up in time.

And you have to bear in mind that Yujin didn’t even get any solo work or stages up until last year. Sometimes it might take a while but pay off later

leeseo will be super popular in the future, I see her on omg arin or itzy yuna's level of popularity in the next 3-4 years.

they may not be A-list celebrities yet, but they on well on their way with this track record. i can see liz being a super hot topic for her voice and being able to do well as a soloist, leeseo and rei are endlessly charismatic and AWESOME performers (underrated imo), and gaeul is going to make noise the moment they let her shine on a title track (she has a laid-back vibe that fans already love)

Cmon, without Wonyoung and Yujin, Ive would be selling 20k and charting 198th on Melon. Nobody in the GP cares about the other girls, at least not yet.

Leeseo going viral definitely helped them. Eleven was around top40 on melon before she went viral.

Without good music IVE would tank hard just like how more popular ggs with shittier songs tanked.

Starship is capable to create another digimon like Sistar with or without the ex-Izone members and their gg would sell at least 100k because that's the standard physicals from Starship. And obviously Leeseo would go viral without Wonyoung and Yujin's help. She literally had higher fancam views than Wonyoung at some point.
