RE : Why is Aespa doing so bad on Spotify? Even worse than Lesserafim.

  • How did you not expect it lol? Le Sserafim is associated with hybe. Hybe groups do kpop level well on spotify. Hybe makes much more accessible music which people like and comeback to. Fearless is very catchy and a chill vibe song.

    Aespa music is not for everyone. What's shocking is wadada which was so heavily panned had more longevity on global spotify than any aespa song.

  • Not true for red velvet, aespa, nct or even exo. They are released on spotify as soon as its supposed to drop. If at 6pm kst, u can find the whole album on spotify at that time

    Aespa:

    Total streams across these five songs is ~424 million (lazy math).


    Le Sserafim:

    • Fearless: 30,396,585
    • Blue Flame: 7,182,175,175
    • Sour Grapes: 4,346,396
    • The Great Mermaid: 3,363,378
    • The World is My Oyster: 1,776,849

    Total streams across these five songs is ~46 million (also lazy math)


    So the answer to "why is aespa doing worse than le sserafim on spotify" is "they are objectively not."

  • I think they are talking about global spotify chart longevity. Le Sserafim has 28 days already on it while aespa has 19 days.

    This chart is a bit old but aespa's numbers will remain same if it's not wrong.

    Kiinda not fair to compare this way since LSRFM have been around for only a month, im guessing anon could have been talking about consistency since they are still having a high average streaming number a month after, but i'm not familiar with Aespa's to compare.

    Not really. I agree that aespa's streams are a bit too much picked on here and they aren't as bad as some make it seem. But it's also true that they do lag behind.

  • People should wait for aespa comback, and Itzy too. This is a dumb comparison. In 2022, we have seen large increase listeners from spotify.


    Also, days spend on spotify global is not an absolute number to measures. Position on the chart is all relative. Streams is the better measurement for these GG.


    Let me put it this way, if illusion a suprise bside release was able to net 800k first day, then I won't be suprise that aespa title song can reach 2 mil on release. Now, depend on the song if they can sustain on the chart.


    Now on to the narrative that aespa spotify stream is bad.

  • when people say 'bad bad streams' 'so far behind' i expect having the songs with 50mln streams max and gap like 200-300 mln betweeen songs

    Its not. It is all narrative. Somebody stated the wadada is doing better than savage, but these songs are close. Savage might win in the end for longevity. For Lesserafim, it is remain to be seen.


    Here how it is a flaw to use spotify Global as an absolute for comparison. Next Level did not even chart on spotify global. Look at the chart I post. See how it is doing so well compare to other songs that charted?
