such an encouraging professor
I was a contract lecturer/professor
I wanted to figure out if I like it before I commit to it
Holy FFFFFFFF
people never asked me questions to teach them things or discuss the concepts
They just contacted me to beg for marks
some of them send their parents to me, they thought I would be intimidated bc Im young
Like FFFFF that

The heck
I've never heard of a person that would send their parents to uni professors
Even begging for marks at uni
I was just used to the concept: need to show more to get more

well I was technically only 3-4 years older than them
( I fast tracked through some academic studies)
It was so awkward when parents showed up to my office
I was like Ma'am I cant discuss the students grades with you, they are 18, its illegal

No, I just assume they went to college, lol. They didn't even say whether or not they graduated. I went to college too so I KNOW that doesn't mean people are smart even if they graduated.

I can imagine how awkward was that
But yeah, I thought parents have no entry to uni or something (not an official rule of course haha)

I didnt marked students based on how active they were in participation
but if they didnt understand concepts, I had office hours and virtual zoom sessions they could have dropped by to ask questions
Literally no one showed up all semester eventhough it could have been a great 1 on 1 learning experience
Just at the end of semester they all lined up crying in my office
I didnt know how to handle that bc they knew they werent doing well for 3 month but never asked for help or discussed things before hand.

Well... I graduated college with a C- on average.

Won't matter when you apply for a job. Trust me. The fact that you went, graduated and you have the degree is enough.

I'm saying this for when you do apply for a job that might require one. In my company, even as a software engineer we hire people who graduated in unrelated fields as long as they prove they have the chops and not all of "the chops" can or should be learned in school. That matters vastly more than any degree - that is what I am saying.
